Time-travel: Closed Society BBS 1998 (PC Board) - II Damn, Unfortunately, this 10th or so attempt of mine (3rd one that I leave up and not delete) to get YouTube to render the audio of this video properly failed once more. Re-encoding did not fix the problem, re-editing or conversion had also no effect. I uploaded the video in WMV, AVI (various different audio and video codec options), MOV, MP4, MPG and FLV format, all for no prevail. There is always an audio channel missing in the final version generated by YouTube. :( I uploaded the exact same video as this one here to Metacafe, where the audio is fine. I recorded some of the screen sessions that you can have a look at how a BBS looked and felt like during the prime of BBSing. V2 of my BBS Closed Society was not up and running very long so You will notice that it was not customized to 100% perfection yet, like most boards were after running for a couple years. The modem connection sound at the beginning is unfortunatelly not exactly the original HST or V32Bis connect sound, but it gets pretty close to trigger some memories hehe. Time Warrior versus Troll I've used some 2007 Xpresit Gathering footage for the representation but it boils down to this. Years back, another Chicagoland Demoscene Musician named "Troll" decided to make a song called "Ode 2 Time Warrior" in which he uses his own voice to say "Time Warrior's a Homo!" .. well, I took his voice sample, manipulated it to say "I'm The Homo!" and released it as a "fake troll release" ... he was none too pleased about it at the time Though any idiot could see it was fake, he still wasn't too happy :-) So I blended the two together into a single song.
