IOSYS - Unlocked Girl - via BLEEPER! (a.k.a. System Speaker) A 'bleeper music' version - how ancient DOS games used to sound - of IOSYS's song 'Unlocked Girl ~ The girl who left her secret room'. Please don't flame me for pronouncing 'IOSYS' wrong! I know it's イオシス ('E O sis') in Japanese, but I say it the kind of way you say 'I/O system'. Blame it on me being a programmer, who deals with I/O rather than 'E O' things. :P Anyway... back on topic... I made it using a program called Bleeper Music Maker (which I also made :P (using Visual Basic 6)). It took about 3 quarters of an hour to make the music, and I've been developing the program for months. You can download my Bleeper Music Maker (beta) (which includes this music) here: http://robbi-985.homeip.net:8000/hosted_programs/update/bmm/index.html ^ ALWAYS LATEST VERSION Note that as of revision 123, FMOD stuttering as it pulses between notes is fixed, and getting out of sync is fixed under some circumstancces. =D Note that it only works on Windows XP and Vista (probably NT, 2K and ME too, I haven't tested). Other versions of Windows (95/98) ignore the pitch/time information, repeatedly producing the same tone over and over again. You also need the 'VB6 Runtime' DLL, which you can download from the Microsoft website. Just give them a Google search. If the link doesn't work, it'll be because of my crappy server (or rather, its crappy internet connection). Please WAIT a few hours, or maybe even a day, then try again. IOSYS - 此処で逢ったが六十年目 (via BLEEPER / System Speaker - FULL!) YES!! I was able to make a complete 'bleeper version' of this music by IOSYS! Definitely my best yet in my opinion. No talking - just a view of the programs and then straight to the music! This one took about 1 and a half hours to make - much longer than (double) the time it took to make Unlocked Girl. This one pulses much faster between the notes (than Unlocked Girl), and so it's more obvious at the points when my computer struggles to play it - slight stuttering, especially near the end. Recorded with my PSP's camera, so sorry for the lack of focus with close-ups. This video is completely unedited, so sorry about the start and abrupt end. The original is playing on my normal 'soundcard' speakers, while the 'bleeper version' plays on the internal system speaker. At the end of the video, the playing original music has reached half-way and has effectively looped back to the start (so I stopped there). [Touhou] Luna Dial (Sakuya Izayoi's theme), Bleeper Style Tsuki Dokei ~Luna Dial~, via the internal PC speaker (or 'system speaker). I transcribed it for my Bleeper Music Maker, and here it is playing it along with the original MIDI made by ZUN (but with the channels which my program plays MUTED). This one took about 2 hours 45 mins to complete (ZUN's style of arpeggio harmonies are beautiful, but the complexity of the beauty makes it tedious to transcribe), but who knows how long it would've taken if Sakuya hadn't kept slowing time. I thank her. =D (On an unrelated side-note, I am perfectly sane.) I tried to recreate that 'messing with time' sensation that the percussion and bass in the original did, by using dotted notes for the bass at the equivalent points. Finally! With a new release of my Bleeper Music Maker, you can now do dotted and triplet notes! =D The buttons are above the music list. You can see the "Dotted" button automatically pop in and out as it comes across a dotted note ("Dot") in the music list. Bleeper Music Maker (revision 131) + Remi Piano Solo MIDI OUT!! ... ... is the main new feature added in this version. Instead of (or as well as) using the PC speaker, it can send all notes and beeps to a MIDI device which you choose (it doesn't have to be external, it can even be that nasty-sounding synth Windows XP and Vista use by default). More info in Info.txt under "MIDI OUTPUT MOD" To show off the new Midi Output mod, here's a short video of a little BMM file I made, playing through my Yamaha keyboard via MIDI Out, complete with accidental footage of a bug with the Synchronized Play mod, which makes it randomly decide start playing 2 minutes after you last started it playing. By the way, that bug is now fixed. Gekiryuu Sanzu Kawa (Komachi's Theme remix) - Bleeper Style Remix originally by 'Beat Mario': 激流三途川 (ビートまりお). I made this PC speaker version ('Bleeper Style') using my program 'Bleeper Music Maker', which you can download the latest version of from my blog. The 'original' remix is playing along (muffled, for mainly bass) with the internal PC speaker. This one took about 3 hours to make. The song title translates roughly to "Swift Current River Sanzu". I added a split-screen view of me attempting to play, and messing up miserably on, PSP Revolution on the same song, Gekiryuu Sanzu Kawa. Just because I thought the video was a little boring without it. :P Oh well, whatever. IOSYS - The Hourai Jewel, Ever Beautiful A+B (Bleeper Style) This took the longest to transcribe, by far, of all my bleeper music compositions - about 5 hours. The song is a remix, by IOSYS, of 2 themes from Touhou 08 "Imperishable Night", and it's called 「蓬莱の玉、どこまでも美しく」. Its title has been translated to "The Hourai Jewel, Ever Beautiful". The song was made by IOSYS in 2 parts, A and B. - Part A: 「竹取飛翔」 "Flight of the Bamboo Cutter" (Kaguya Houraisan's theme). - Part B: 「Voyage 1970」 (Eirin and Kaguya's Last Spell theme) The chorus of Part A repeats to finish the song. So it's like A-B-A. Part B gave me _so_ much hassle. The tune really _is_ beautiful, but the beauty is complex. x_x For those who don't know - this is a program I made, for creating music with the internal 'system speaker' inside PCs. Then I made this music using it. It's playing along with the original song on my main computer speakers.
