Elvis Live Such a Night 1961, Pearl Harbor Bloch Arena After the army and before Vegas Elvis only did 3 concert appearances: all were for charity purposes, all were in 1961 and took place in special location that Elvis loved. In the 25 of February of 1961 Elvis did 2 shows in Memphis, at the Elis Auditorium. Exactly one month later, in the 25 of March, Elvis did his first Hawaiian benefit concert at Pearl Harbour, Bloch Arena. This concert was recorded in radio quality and released, in the 80's in the RCA Box Set Elvis Aaron Presley (the Silver Box). For me that Concert stands as one of Elvis best Concerts ever. In fact it is my favourite Elvis concert of them all. There is no film footage of it (Why? Why? Why?). I found this very nice video with cool still picks, that is definitely worth of viewing! The music is Such a Night, a fantastic performance of this classic. And I just wonder... if Elvis didn't stop touring and playing live, the Sixties would had been very very different from what it was... Just like I say, the sixties pop invasion only happened because Elvis was no longer there. In others words: It was not the British invasion that knocked Elvis. The British invasion only happened that way because Elvis was, in terms of Rock'n'Roll, long long gone, and there was plenty of room for others to come in...
