LESSON SERIES ONE VESTAPOL TUNING OPEN D and E CIGAR BOX GUITAR LESSONS INCLUDED CD PLAYS ON YOUR COMPUTER & CONTAINS SHEET MUSIC FILE BOTTLENECK SLIDE GUITAR is based on an early one string folk instrument called the Diddley-Bow, and the traditional playing style of Hawaiian Guitar. The early Blues Masters of the 1920s and 30s, would place a bottleneck from a wine bottle, or a short piece of metal pipe on their finger. Using this as a slide, they could move up and down along the strings of a guitar imitating singing or the cries and moans of the human voice. This style uses an early method of tuning the guitar called open tuning, that is also used to play banjo. The guitar is tuned to a D or E chord, that actually makes it easier to learn music theory. The course starts with learning to play single note melody lines on one string. Next, by adding a second note harmony is created. Then a third note creates chords. The final song is embellished by adding strumming techniques and bottleneck slide. THIS CD WILL NOT ONLY TEACH YOU HOW TO PLAY BOTTLENECK GUITAR, BUT HOW TO CREATE AND ARRANGE SONGS. The Blues songs presented on this cd are in the style of Robert Johnson, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Tommy Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Howlin' Wolf, and Muddy Waters .Traditional Country Gospel songs are also taught because they were a major influence in the development of the Blues. Plays on your PC. Video in .WMA format. Use Windows media player, Winamp (free download online), etc. Almost 2 hours long. Tampa Red (January 8, 1904) - March 19, 1981), born Hudson Woodbridge, but known from childhood as Hudson Whittaker, was an influential American musician. Tampa Red is best known as an accomplished and influential blues guitarist who had a unique single-string bottleneck style. The National guitar he used was a gold-plated tricone, which was found in Illinois in the 1990s and later sold to the "Experience Music Project" in Seattle. Bottle Neck Love "Bottle Neck Love": Part music video and part animated short Bottle Neck Love is the director's first attempt at communicating with audiences across the globe. The short avoids using any form of verbal communication in order to be able to reach out to people from different cultures and relate to them all a simple story of human behavior. Bottle Neck Love is a window through which we see the lives of two different characters whose lives cross as they both follow their independent paths. Characters who, like many of us, must make choices and realize past mistakes in order to overcome difficulties and realize their goals. Rock Island Line by Huddie Leadbelly Ledbetter Bottleneck Slide Blues Guitar Rock Island Line by Huddie Leadbelly Ledbetter performed by Keni Lee Burgess on Commercial Street in Provencetown Mass. Cape Cod 2008. Huddie Ledbetter, better known to the music world as "Lead Belly" was born January 20, 1889, in Mooringsport, Louisiana (near Shreveport). Huddie was legendary for picking 1,000 lbs of cotton a day, and lining the railroad tracks. While it is claimed the song refers to the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad, the song is considerably older than the first recording, and from some of the lyrics it can be interpreted that the "railroad" is the Underground Railroad, a slave escape route.
