Brinley Richards: Evening (Nocturne) Brinley Richards (1817-85) was a master of 'bel canto' piano transcriptions of popular songs and operatic extracts, but also wrote original pieces. This nocturne was published in 1872, amd although at first sight sentimental, actually is very effective in its simplicity and achieves some most attractive sonorities.
