The Invasion (2005) 3D w/ Cinema 4D & After Effects 3D animation created from still photos of my street, Cinema 4D, and After Effects. The storyline has a little twist, influenced by the recent scares of the Bird Flu. On the larger res 60MB version you see the reflections on the walking robot etc. All models were created by myself except the earth model, this was only my second attempt t models and an animation so please keep that in mind, I know te models are poor but it was a sort deadlined project. Please feel free to rate! Would appreciate any comments! Programs used: Cinema4D 8.2, After Effects 6.5, Photoshop (for newspaper article and edited of background/street images), & Nero Wave Editor (Editing Music Track). *** C4D moles FFD trick How to have fun with C4D on an Intel iMac white with just 2 Giga of RAM ? I don't know about you but I'm tired to have to wait for months to see something moving with a normal (raytraced) render and what about GI & AO ?No way! Here is a project made (render included) in 10'. 1)take a plane (standard 400*400) 2)make an FFD (in all other 3D programs named "lattice") 3)make the FFD smaller than the plane,something like 3*3*1,it must have points in the center from the up view to be pinched to make the big bump that will be the mole under the carpet 4)make the FFD child of the plane 5)from the top view select with the square all (up and down) the center points of the FFD 6)bring them up to make the big bump 7)move the FFD out of the carpet so that the plane is again a plane 8)at frame 1 record one coordinate of the FFD position 9)at the last frame record again the same X or Z after the mole has gone from out of the carpet to under the carpet and again out on the other side 10)copy and paste the FFD 11)move it a little bit on its left or right : you've now already two moles running! 12)in the timeline select the start and end key of your mole number 2 13)bring these keys forward in time : now one mole start to move after the first one 14)make the mole number 3 in the same way and rotate it 90 degree :now it cross the way of the first 2 15)put the view in "quick shade" 16)filter out of view all but what you see in the video 17)have fun with the curves editor to make the moles' running interesting 18)put all (carpet ,moles,camera and lights) inside a big sphere 19)make a material with all the channels unchecked (pure black) 20)assign it to the sphere You're ready to render. Don't do it. Instead make a preview with the setting you see in the video. With the preview movie open in QuickTime Player export as Divx and put it on YouTube.
