Bizarre Comix Klaw Bilbrew Eneg Jim Eric Stanton In the 1950s, Irving Klaw contracted with many artists to produce comic serials for his mail order business. Illustrators included Gene (Eneg) Bilbrew, Eric Stanton, Mario, Adolfo Ruiz, (Swiss) Jim, Jay and others. The originals arranged each multi-panel episode in a rectangle that was chemically printed on photo paper. With both vertical and horizontal orientations, the photo sheets' panels were often adjacent to a block of narrative text. Mr. Klaw advertised these episodes in bulletins he would mail to customers and in men's magazines. To avoid conflict with postal authorities, the comic images never showed nudity or sexual conduct. The erotic weight of these works was expressed through the restraints, poses they produced, and fetish costumes of both the damels in dressage and their sexy captors. Some serials described rubber attire and bondage situations as hobbies. Some stories involved tyrannical households, institutions, adventures or kidnapping. This erotic art from the culturally tormented, post-World War II period would be lost to the 21st century if Bélier Press hadn't published the pages in the multi-volume Bizarre Comics series in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The innovative works of these talented men were preserved in print, each episode and each serial complete. This glimpse into the erotic aesthetics and styles of the 1950s is now available in ebook form at the 30th Street Graphics website. Each Bizarre Comix ebook bundle consists of three complete serials, sometimes presented as a digital replica of the original layouts, sometimes presented in an optimized format, and sometimes presented in both formats. Comix Zone:Level 1 This was my favorite game on sega in existance. The story is about this guy sketch that gets transported into his own comic book. The evil boss guy draws the monsters he has to fight in each panel. The games camera is awesome in the way that it shows a lot of the other comic book frames, so it really feels like your in the comic book! The game play is way ahead of it's time with the controls and the overall movement sketch. This game was listed in "The top 10 games that actually NEED a sequel" and it took the number one spot. I really wish they made a new updated version of this game and keep the 2d side scrolling, kind of like viewtiful joe. If you get the chance to play the game do it. Exemplary music and sound effects by Howard Drossin NOTE: ==== While my skill with the combo system & my newfound ability to complete the game in one sitting have significantly improved, I've also gotten extremely rusty with this game since I first owned it back in 1995 on the SEGA genesis, & so I've forgotten most of the later puzzles. The Episode 2 boss, Kung Fung gave me a hell of a lot more trouble than he ever has and he definitely had me on my toes towards the end. I don't use Roadkill too often on the Morgana enemy just cause she's one of the easiest to juggle enemies of the gameand its too much fun beating the crap outta her. the green Mutant Brood enemies are complete punching bags. TIPS for the PROS: ================== I use Jump-Ins (jumping in attacks) to break up the enemy's defense before I start an on the ground combo ----------------------------------- Successive high kicks (UP + FORWARD + ATTACK) on the ground finish in a skull craking jumping stationary kick -------------------------------- Use the jumping forward kick to "floor juggle" a dead/downed opponent (Easiest to perfrom on Gravis). It adds insult to injury and is a little move I try to use whenever possible. But be careful you could actually revive the foe if your'e sloppy with this showboating technique. --------------------------------- Enemies can inflict damage on one another stand back and let them duke it out over who gets to scalp you --------------------------------- The edges of the comic book are deadly, use your attacks to knock enemies through breakable panels or you can actually push them off of the page- once they're squeezed behind a panel wall they're instantly killed (works best with groups of 2 or more). ---------------------------------- Screeches can be killed easily with an uppercut and a single jumping attack. Exception- the flying screech in the second to last panel of the game will take more hits ------------------------------------ Hold down the attack button for 30 seconds to use the Paper Airplane secret attack- Sketch tears off a piece of the comic's own pages and uses it against anything and everything in its path.
