Stress Relief for the Creative and Constantly Connected Google Tech Talks May, 1 2008 ABSTRACT It's awesome that we are all so connected, but the real question is, how are we connected? More specifically: How can our time connected via technology enhance our creativity and well-being instead of adding to our frustration and stress? How can we engage creatively with our work such that we are more likely to calmly complete a project in four hours rather than stressing and banging our head to complete it in eight? How can our time connected be more focused and less scattered? In this talk, focused on Stress Relief for the Creative and Constantly Connected, teachings from ancient wisdom traditions like Zen will be used to address these questions. Using material from his forthcoming book on this subject, the speaker will offer tools for living sanely and effectively in this increasingly connected world. This talk will be taped Speaker: Soren Gordhamer Soren Gordhamer is an entrepreneur, author, and techie who explores the promises and pitfalls of living networked and connected in the technology age. Constantly - Vanessa Williams Born in the Bronx on March 18, 1963, Vanessa Lynn Williams and her brother, Chris (the actor), were raised in Millwood, a suburb of New York City located in Westchester. Her parents, Milton and Helen, both music teachers, are also each half-white and half-black. And they must have had a premonition, because Vanessa's birth announcement read: "Here she is: Miss America!" Tags: constantly vanessa williams |

Panic At The Disco - I constantly thank God for Esteban I think this is the best song on the album but they didnt release it as a single, what a shame... Tried to make a slideshow with the song, hope you enjoy! Lyrics: "Give us this day our daily dose of faux affliction Forgive our sins Forged at the pulpit with forked tongues selling faux sermons. Because I am a new wave gospel sharp, and you'll be thy witness So gentlemen, if you are going to preach, for God sakes preach with conviction! Strike up the band! Whoa-oh, the conductor is beckoning Come congregation, let's sing it like you mean it No. Don't you get it, don't you get it? Now don't you move. Strike up the band! Whoa-oh, the conductor is beckoning Come congregation, let's sing it like you mean it No. Don't you get it, don't you get it? Now don't you move. Just stay where I can see you. Douse the lights! We sure are in for a show tonight In this little number we're graced by two displays of character, We've got: the gunslinger extraordinaire walking contradictions And I for one can see no blood from the hearts and the wrists you allegedly slit And I for one wont stand for this if this scene were a parish you'd all be condemned. Now don't you, don't you move. Just stay where I can see you Douse the lights! We sure are in for a show tonight Just stay where I can see you Douse the lights! I'm Constantly thinking about you, Robbie First time I've heard this song was in the Danish commercial for SAS. It's called Moan and is original by Trentemøller. But I discovered that, the song I've heard in the commercial was a remix feat. Ane Trolle.. And everytime I saw this commercial, it reminded me of how often I think of Robbie. - and how. Especially this part: "I've been thinking too much about you See the sunset with no sleep at all Constantly thinking about you And I can't get through this at all" Hope You'll enjoy (: Song:(c) Moan by Trentemøller (Feat. Mind's Eye; the Brain relies constantly on Visual Memories To create a visual perception of the world, your brain ALWAYS relies as much on sight as memories. Susan Greenfield: "Our brains are constantly distorting what we see. Using imagination, our brains take a bold shortcut; we guess what's out there from past experience rather to having to build up the image in our mind each time from scratch. [...] The brain doesn't just allow us to see what's out there, it actually invents much of it." This concept explained and much more in the documentary series "Brain Story" (2000) by the extraordinary British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). http://www.bbc.co.uk Full description of the original documentary series: - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/837632.stm Official "brain story" book, companion to the series: - http://www.amazon.com/BBC-Brain-Story-Unlocking-Emotions/dp/0789478390/ref=sr_1_1/103-5064472-5130250?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1189084936&sr=1-1 About the author, Susan Greenfield: - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_Greenfield or - http://www.sirc.org/about/susan_greenfield.html the "whole brain atlas" online: - http://www.med.harvard.edu/AANLIB/home.html Tags: QuarksAreStrange Optical Illusion Brain Eyes Visual Memories Neurology BBC |

Jerusalem - Constantly Changing Music video by Jerusalem performing Constantly Changing, from Warrior album (1981) Constantly Changing (Ulf Christiansson) When I look at myself in the mirror And see what I've become Sometimes I get to thinkin How it was so long ago But now it's no longer me that's livin It's Jesus livin in me I'm livin, I'm changing I'm livin, I'm constantly changing Though at times it may not seem so And it's hard to see just how we're changing There's one thing I'm pretty sure of That we're changing with every day that comes But are we changing for the better Or, are we changing for the worse? We're livin, we're changing We're livin, we're constantly changing Could be you've never dared to look You've rather chosen to remain blind For you know what lies there hidden But weighs so heavy on your mind Jesus can set you free from yourself You can surface and then begin to find Forgiven, start livin And then you can change for the better Start livin, forgiven The only way to change for the better Jerusalem: Ulf Christiansson - lead vocals, guitar Peter Carlsohn - bass Dan Tibell - keyboards Michael Ulvsgärd - drums Tags: ulf christiansson jerusalem swedish hard rock christian |
