Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings-How Long (dub mix) This is something special for all you music lovers out there. It's the amazing group Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings wonderful song "How Long Do I Have To Wait For You?", remixed in a dub sound by Ticklah. If you don't know already, The Dap-Kings are a revivalist soul revue, like a late-'60s Stax backing band, and Sharon Jones is their 51-year-old James Brown-esque fireplug leader. They aren't an oldies act, however, performing predominantly originals (with the exception of James Brown's "It's A Man's, Man's, Man's World"). Their songs could be held up against any R&B standard. They feel authentic without coming off like a novelty or tribute act to an era. And Jones is one of the most commanding stage presences I have seen in some time. She stands in utter control of both her band and her crowd, intermittently pulling up gentlemen from the audience to sing to/dance with them. Seeming completely at home on stage, she is a true star.
