NASA - Huygens Probe Mission - Decent Camera This movie, built with data collected during the European Space Agency's Huygens probe on Jan. 14, 2005, shows the operation of the Descent Imager/Spectral Radiometer camera during its descent and after touchdown. The camera was funded by NASA. The almost four-hour-long operation of the camera is shown in less than five minutes. That's 40 times the actual speed up to landing and 100 times the actual speed thereafter. The first part of the movie shows how Titan looked to the camera as it acquired more and more images during the probe's descent. Each image has a small field of view, and dozens of images were made into mosaics of the whole scene. The scientists analyzed Huygens' speed, direction of motion, rotation and swinging during the descent. The movie includes sidebar graphics that show: (Lower left corner) Huygens' trajectory views from the south, a scale bar for comparison to the height of Mount Everest, colored arrows that point to the sun and to the Cassini orbiter. (Top left corner) A close-up view of the Huygens probe highlighting large and unexpected parachute movements, a scale bar for comparison to human height. (Lower right corner) A compass that shows the changing direction of view as Huygens rotates, along with the relative positions of the sun and Cassini. (Upper right corner) A clock that shows Universal Time for Jan. 14, 2005 (Universal Time is 7 hours ahead of Pacific Daylight Time). Above the clock, events are listed in mission time, which starts with the deployment of the first of the three parachutes. Sounds from a left speaker trace Huygens' motion, with tones changing with rotational speed and the tilt of the parachute. There also are clicks that clock the rotational counter, as well as sounds for the probe's heat shield hitting Titan's atmosphere, parachute deployments, heat shield release, jettison of the camera cover and touchdown. Sounds from a right speaker go with the Descent Imager/Spectral Radiometer activity. There's a continuous tone that represents the strength of Huygens' signal to Cassini. Then there are 13 different chimes - one for each of instrument's 13 different science parts - that keep time with flashing-white-dot exposure counters. During its descent, the Descent Imager/Spectral Radiometer took 3,500 exposures. The Huygens probe was delivered to Saturn's moon Titan by the Cassini spacecraft, which is managed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif. Final Fantasy XII PCSX2 Decent FPS Here is me playing five minutes of Final Fantasy XII on PCSX2 0.9.5svn390. The latest beta of the only real working PS2 Emulator. I have to say with the way that I've got it configured, it's more than playable. Enjoy. My specs are as follows. Motherboard: ASUS M2N32 SLI Deluxe with the latest BIOS Processor: AMD Athlon X2 6400+ @ 3214 Mhz (Stock) RAM: 2 Gb OCZ Titanium XTC DDR2-800 GPU: 2 BFG 8800 GTS 320 Mb Running in SLI Audio Device: Sound Blaster XFI Platinum As for my settings. I have the latest version of PCSX2 which you can download from this page. http://www.4shared.com/account/file/61440849/4c504888/PCSX2_095_rev_390_PP_rev_87.html?sId=awIxLu0WpHtuPm5B Just go to the folder where you have PCSX2 and replace pcsx2.exe and pcsx2t with the files in this download. I would also make shortcuts to replace the ones in your start menu or desktop. The plug-ins I am using are as follows: Video: GSdx 846 (MSVC 15.00, SSE2) 0.1.9 Settings; All I did that was very special was set the resolution to MAX, select DirectX10 (Hardware) from the list, turn off interlacing, and uncheck the box for Native res. All other boxes are checked. Sound: ZeroSPU2 0.4.6 Settings; The first and second boxes are checked, the second one doesn't really need to be but I'm picky about good sound. First Controller: I'm using LilyPad 0.9.4 for my control scheme because it allows me to setup the game like an MMO, meaning it lets me use the mouse for camera (R3) movement using the X and Y axis. That you can configure however you want. Second Controller: N/A Cdvdrom: Linuzappz Iso CDVD 0.7.0 Settings; I have the game ripped from the original Collectors Edition that purchased the day that it came out. I like to keep it on the HDD as an ISO because it runs A LOT faster that way. All of the other plugins do not matter since you cannot configure them anyway. I am using the BIOS that I ripped from my PS2 it is V2.00, the latest one (that I am aware of). For Gamefixes I have the only box in that window checked. It doesn't really help all that much for me though. Maybe it will for you though. For Speed Hacks I have the first four boxes checked and the hack for tighter SPU2 sync (third from the bottom). For CPU I have all of the boxes check since my processor is dual core and VERY capable of multitasking. So was my three year old Opteron so I don't think anything that you or anyone else has should be an issue. Though this program is VERY CPU intensive. I also have the frame limiting set to "limited" so it doesn't go to fast. I also went under Misc and disabled the console and patches; since the console is just annoying and makes things sluggish, and there are no patches for FFXII that work well. Every time I run the game I hit file, then Run CD/DVD as opposed to hitting run and execute since that also speeds thing up. Oh yeah, another thing, I also went under run and set the process priority to low. For some reason that helps thing move a bit faster. I can't really explain why but it works. That's pretty much it. I just used google and found these plugins when I first found them. I will give you a few links however.
