Christopher Hitchens comments on Jerry Falwell Hitchens on AC360 railing against the gross hypocrisy of Reverend Jerry Falwell. I disagree with a lot of Hitchens' views, but not on religion. The man hits the nail right on the head, or perhaps in the hand would be more appropriate. Tags: Christopher Hitchens Jerry Falwell Anderson Cooper God is Not Great |

McCain's Spiritual Guide - Parsley, Hagee, Falwell, ... Spread this video, digg it: http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/McC... You may have heard of Rev. John Hagee, the McCain supporter who said God created Hurricane Katrina to punish New Orleans for its homosexual "sins." Well now meet Rev. Rod Parsley, the televangelist megachurch pastor from Ohio who hates Islam. According to David Corn of Mother Jones, Parsley has called on Christians to wage war against Islam, which he considers to be a "false religion." In the past, Parsley has also railed against the separation of church and state, homosexuals, and abortion rights, comparing Planned Parenthood to Nazis. John McCain actively sought and received Parsley's endorsement in the presidential race. McCain has called Parsley "a spiritual guide," and he hasn't said whether he shares Parsley's vicious anti-Islam views. That's because the mainstream media refuses to ask. And so, we've taken matters into our own hands, joining Mother Jones to present the truth about McCain's pastor. Since the media won't question McCain about his deeply bigoted pastor, it's up to you to call attention to this issue. Make McCain's pastor problem a major story by forwarding this video to your family, friends, and colleagues. We can't let McCain get away with aligning himself with a religious leader who's called for an all-out war on Islam, someone who draws no distinctions between Muslims and violent Islamic extremists. Now is the crucial time to act. Yours, Robert Greenwald and the Brave New Team Tags: mccain pastor rod parsley hagee falwell hate speech islam wright muslim war |

Christopher Hitchens on Rev. Jerry Falwell's death Christopher Hitchens on the Anderson Cooper 360 show talking about Reverend Jerry Falwell and his death of the previous day. Recorded on 15-May-2007. More information about Christopher Hitchens (from Wikipedia): Christopher Eric Hitchens (born April 13, 1949, in Portsmouth, England) is an Anglo-American author, journalist and literary critic. Currently living in Washington, D.C., he has been a columnist at Vanity Fair, The Nation, Slate and Free Inquiry; additionally, he is an occasional contributor to other publications and has appeared regularly in the Wall Street Journal. His brother is British journalist Peter Hitchens. Hitchens is known for his iconoclasm, anti-clericalism, atheism, antitheism, anti-fascism and anti-monarchism. He is also noted for his acerbic wit and his noisy departure from the Anglo-American political left. He was formerly a Trotskyist and a fixture in the left wing publications of Britain and America. But a series of disagreements beginning in the early 1990s led to his resignation from The Nation shortly after the September 11, 2001, attacks. He is also known for his ardent admiration of George Orwell and Thomas Jefferson, and his iconoclastic criticism of Mother Teresa. While Hitchens' idiosyncratic ideas and positions preclude easy classification, he is a vociferous critic of what he describes as "fascism with an Islamic face," and his critics have been known to describe him as a "neoconservative". Hitchens, however, refuses to embrace this designation. In 2004, Hitchens stated that neoconservative support for US intervention in Bosnia and Iraq convinced him that he was "on the same side as the neo-conservatives" when it came to contemporary foreign policy issues. He has also been known to refer to his association with "temporary neocon allies". Hitchens no longer considers himself a Trotskyist or a socialist; yet he maintains that his political views have not changed significantly. He points out that, throughout his career, he has been both an atheist and an antitheist, and that he has always remained a believer in the Enlightenment values of secularism, humanism and reason. Hitchens has launched a detailed attack on Religion in his book god Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything. He has also stated that, while he "was very much in rebellion against the state" during his youth, he is now "much more inclined to stress... issues of individual liberty." Hitchens became a United States citizen on his fifty-eighth birthday, April 13, 2007. Please let me know if you like the Christopher Hitchens videos. Which of them will Jesus smite first? (Question answered!) Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson two days after September 11, 2001. Did Jesus tell them to blame 9-11 on homosexuals and pagans? Or did they think of that crap by themselves? Aha! The question I posed in the title was answered on May 15, 2007 when God wrathfully smote Jerry "Jabba" Falwell. Allegedly he died of a "heart rhythm abnormality." My bet is on a heart attack brought on by his uncontrolled gluttony. Gluttony? Hmmm... http://206.135.15.32/answers/aglutton.html Tags: Jerry Falwell Pat Robertson 9-11 terrorism Christ Christianity Jesus love blame |

Is It The End? Originally broadcast July 31, 2006 during the Israel/Lebanon conflict, CNN's Paula Zahn speaks with the Reverends Jerry Falwell and Kevin Bean, with comments by Joel Rosenberg, as to whether current violence in the Holy Land could lead to the Biblical Armageddon. Pay particular attention to the Reverend Bean's attitude that Bible prophecy is only figurative, which in itself fulfills 2 Peter 3:3-4. This is but another sign that: "...when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh."
