Fleetwood Mac - "Silver Springs" Live Fleetwood Mac perform "Silver Springs" live. This is one of my favorite songs that was cut off their original "Rumors" album in the 70's. Edit: To those interested (and there have been quite a few), you can see a high quality version of this performance and many others by purchasing Fleetwood Mac's "The Dance" dvd from amazon.com. Please support the band if you enjoy their music! Tags: fleetwood mac silver springs music video |

Fleetwood Mac Albatross Fleetwood Mac, originally brought together by Peter Green, were a traditional blues band during the late 1960s, but their smash hit 'Albatross' had broader appeal. 'Albatross' and its follow up 'Man Of The World' were untypical of Fleetwood Mac's stage material, but made the band famous. Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac - Green Manalishi Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. Many blame LSD for the permanent damage to Peter Green's mental health, even Peter Green said "I took one too many LSD trips and that puts me in the 'Care and Attention' category." But the drug let out the doom that was already in there. From what I can gather he still spends much of his time as a recluse, self-isolated and on medication "I'm on some medication-- I don't know what it is-- but it makes it hard to concentrate. I rarely feel like playing." There is a sense of loss experienced by the rock community, loss of the talent that once was. The split in the band happened after Green claimed to have seen an angel holding a starving Biafran child in her arms and he wanted the band to work for charity to help feed the starving. This of course meant that he was mad. Mick Fleetwood flatly refused and John McVie, although he intially agreed, as Fleetwood put it "he soon came to his senses when he realized that the proposition was coming from a guy who'd just been given lots of acid." So in 1970, faced with the band's refusal to give all their money away, Peter Green wrote the 'Green Manalishi' and left. I heard he shaved off all his hair, gave everything he owned away and lived as a tramp for a while whilst he concentrated on his descent into madness.
