Gandalf vs. Balrog Full & Uncut The famous line is "Fly, you fools!" Argument closed. I edited together all the parts of Gandalf's battle with the Balrog to create this complete version. A few things about this fight, Gandalf, and the Balrog: Surprisingly enough, the Balrog and Gandalf are of the same race of creature, Maiar. While yes, Gandalf is one of the 5 Istari (Wizards) sent to Middle-earth to challenge Sauron, and the Balrog is one of the Valaurakar, one of many such servants of Morgoth, the first Dark Lord of whom Sauron was a servant, their origins are the same. It is certainly possible that they were of even strength in this fight, as Gandalf himself admits in the book "I have met my match." There also seems to be some confusion about how the Balrog and Gandalf suddenly went from a pit to the top of a mountain. This battle actually stretched out over a much longer amount of time, days in fact, and what was cut out of the movie was that after the Balrog and Gandalf plunged into the water, the Balrog emerged as a slime monster, and was forced to flee from Gandalf up Durin's Stair until he could reignite again at the top of the Misty Mountains. Note: Wow, I never expected such an awesome response to my video. Gandalf - Fade Away READ THIS BEFORE WATCHING: This has (honestly) nothing to do with the movies, but I can't say that it's a FanFiction-vid either. It's about Gandalf (he's my main character), and here he is the White before he becomes the Grey. It all begins with a visit in Orthanc, were Gandalf finds out that Saruman has turned to evil. Saruman captures Gandalf and says "I will not kill you, because you're allready dead!" Then he sends Gandalf to the roof. On the roof, Gandalf begins to remember his old life as the White. He was in the battles of Gondor, during the First War. There he met a hobbit named Pippin Took, who by some reason accepted a dangerous mission. Gandalf remembers that he told him not to, but then he doesn't remember anything else, except that Pippin disappeared. Since Pippin disappeared, Gandalf havn't thought of visiting the hobbit's hometown, Hobbiton. But now he has to; his other friend Bilbo celebrates his 111 birthday. That is when he meets Frodo, and suddenly realises that he cares so much for Frodo as he did for Pippin. He's afraid to lose Frodo also. Then, Frodo shows him Bilbo's old ring and Gandalf remembers it from the First War. To find out more, he travels back to Gondor and studies the archives. There, he finds an old script about himself and Pippin, and how they rode across the country to defend it. The memories comes back like a giant wave. He remembers the fight in Minas Tirith, where he and Pippin followed a wraith to one of the highest levels. There, they were defeated and the wraith told them that he would only spare one life. Pippin decided to follow the wraith and give up his life for Gandalf. Gandalf doesn't want him to, but he went away in all case. On the rode back to Hobbiton, Gandalf stops in the deserted Moria and finds an old book with its history. Just as he reads it, he hears something behind him and turns around. It's a hobbit! A hobbit that he also recognizes; it's Pippin! Gandalf doesn't know what to say. He thought he was dead!
