SNES Gradius III - Level 1 Konami outdone themselves. Jumping from Gradius II from the NES (one of the best games ever made on the system, btw) to this SNES outing was pure bliss. True, the game has slowdowns (much like some early SNES titles), wich in fact, help with the gameplay on crowded levels. Very nice "powerup edit" mode as well, this was the best Gradius for me, until they made Gradius Advance for the GBA and Gradius V on PS2 (can't decide from those two wich one is the best). I also recommend the anime, if you haven't seen it already. I was a bit sad this was the only Gradius to hit the SNES, but there were another great Konami series "Gradius spinoff" that hit the system soon after... Update: Out now on Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console. Europena Update: Will be released on September 28th 2007 on European Wii VC as part of the Hanabi Festival Sci-fi Wekk. NES Gradius Well I struggle a bit off the start, mainly because no one was around and I had to answer the phone lol. Besides that I did pretty good. Struggled a bit when the brains with arms came out and such. The last hallway gave me trouble also. It still turned out to be a warpless, deathless run :D. Hope you enjoy. Gradius Generation Challenge B: Stage 1 Stage 1 isn't very difficult at all, except for maybe part 3. I make the stage look harder, though. :) During parts 2 and 3, the classic Challenger 1985 song plays. If you don't know what it is, it's the name of the song that plays during the first stage of the original Gradius. You can hear this song during the actual game, as well. Gradius Gaiden Stage 9 ("Fate...") (PSX) The final stage of Gradius Gaiden on the PSX, being played by myself, using Vic Viper (wouldn't have it any other way). Quite a big video, this one, clocking in at over 8 minutes in length and 79MB in file size. It actually wasn't as hard to create as I had thought it would be; it only took about 5 attempts to beat the stage on 1 life. The moving walls are what gave me the most grief. Gradius II/グラディウスII (Famicom/ファミコン, 1988) Recorded with NES system w/Famicom converter and capture card. First two stages of Gradius II on the Famicom. It never made it out of Japan for the same reason why Nintendo of America removed the cut scenes and stage map out of Contra: It contains the VRC4 chip, which made Gradius II capable of displaying some beautiful graphics for 8-bit, but Nintendo of America thought it would be too expensive to exploit such technology. NES Gradius II A no hit run of Gradius II. Didn't play this one until a few days ago and then decided to do a no hit run for fun. A few trouble spots here and there but beat most of the bosses fairly quick. The missiles phase in and out from time to time due to the compression.
