Guy and Marian: Is This Love? The thing that's kept me interested in the new Robin Hood series is the fascinating dynamic between Guy of Gisborne (the wonderfully smouldering Richard Armitage) and Marian of Knighton (the beautiful Lucy Griffiths). I wanted to create a video that explored the destructive yet passionate nature of Guy's love for Marian, so I included a number of scenes where fire played a key note. I was particularly pleased with the overlaid scenes in this video, which include fire as a metaphor for the passion Guy feels but also the danger that this passion brings for Marian. Yorkshirewench's wonderful Guy/Marian video to Thomas Newman's Any Other Name was primarily what inspired me to create my own video. To me, her video is utter perfection, and is on the top 25 most played list on my ipod because of its sheer wonderfulness, both in terms of timing and matching of music, dialogue and images. I hugely recommend watching it, and her other videos, which can be found on youtube and on her website. This video is from Guy's point of view, but I liked the way that Marian's expressions show so much conflict in certain scenes as well. One of the things that Lucy does so well in her role as Marian is to communicate the conflict that Marian feels as she tries to reconcile her love for Robin with the feelings that Guy evokes within her, and I wanted to pay tribute to this. Richard plays Gisborne's complex emotions so well - at once conflicted because of his loyalty to Nottingham and also because he has a chance of real redemption in his relationship with Marian. The song has long been a favourite of mine, and something about Richard's demeanour in the first four episodes of the series suggested "80s rock ballad!". I think it's the smouldering ;). Is This Love is a wonderful song about the doubts and joys that love can bring, and it seemed to work really well for Gisborne. Listen to your heart Guy/Marian PLEASE READ all of the summary of this video or it will not make a lot of sense, what started out as a brief description almost became a story. I have had to post the full description of the video to an outside source. Guy and Marian are newly betrothed, their marriage arranged by her father. Guy loves Marian and she knows it. Marian is starting to have feelings for him too, but she is also frightened by him. Guy notices but hopes she will come round. He has his suspicions that she is still seeing Robin. The truth is she is actually distancing herself from Robin for the sake of her future with Guy. Marian goes to see Guy hoping to get to know her husband to be a bit better and she is "stirred" by what she sees (LOL). It gives Guy some hope. He goes to her room later in the castle to talk, but Marian is acting a bit strange, but says she is pleased to see him, but is a little tired, so he leaves. Robin has been watching them... Bleeding Love (Guy/Marian) READ FIRST!! I know it says Guy/Marian, but there are times where she is also in love with Robin - that's why there are black and white moments where Guy is still in the room with the secret lovers however as time progresses Guy's love for Marian seems to be getting stronger and she realizes while everyone is trying to tell him the truth he doesn't even care any more just as long as he can still have her. Over come by this revelation of such deep emotion she suddenly discovers where her heart really lies after the boy comes into her room to take her away with him she says how she feels (hence the sepia moments towards the end) Robin cannot live without Marian so he goes to murder the man and his sheriff in an act of selfish jealousy. As Guy knows he is about to die he remembers his last moments with Marian, and she remembers her happiest with him. Robin is overwhelmed with guilt. Gravity Guy/Marian video I have learned, never to say never again lol. In my exile away from the net I made another Guy/Marian video, I couldn't help it, I just kept imagining them when I heard this song. It sort of has a storyline to it. Marian and Guy reach a truce early on in the video and she finds her self falling for him more and more and it frightens her, she asks him to let her go, but of course he won't. She is not very nice to him (What is new! LOL) Then she realises what a huge mistake she has made and tries to make him see that she does love him, but of course Guy's feelings are hurt and he doubts the depth of her feelings for him, he forgives her and of course I go for the happy ending again, lol. No nasty Episode 13 ending in this video! LOL. Always for You Guy/Marian The video is about how Marian is attracted to Guy. She knows he wants to marry her, but feels he does not know her. But she wants him to know the real her and her other side as the Nightwatchman. When he does find out, he finds it hard to accept it. He feels betrayed and gives her the cold shoulder and tells her it would have been better if they had never met. She is hurt that he cannot accept her other side. He realises he loves her still and forgives her eventually, and lets her know that she does not know him very well either. Crashed - Guy/Marian PLEASE READ SUMMARY. THANK YOU! Guy can see Marian is interested in him, but he is a bit bored as she seems too tame but he courts her as it is expected of him, (kind of thing lol) but he keeps seeing the Nightwatchman everywhere, and this Guy isn't so dumb and has guessed she has boobies and is a woman. He follows Marian and sees her change in the barn and confronts her and they fight, he rips her mask off her. After that robin tries to kill him, and she saves him, but he is still angry at her for the deception and instead of being grateful he gives her the cold shoulder, but he cant stop thinking about her, and becomes more obsessed, but Marian is angry at him now for rejecting her.
