The Assassination of Alexander II of Russia On March 13, 1881 (March 1 O.S.), Hryniewiecki was a part of the "fighting squad" who attacked Tsar Alexander II, who was passing down Nevsky Prospekt near the Winter Palace. When the first bomb went off, Alexander reflected a moment and said he wanted to have a look at the spot where the explosion had occurred. He walked over to the funnel-shaped pit formed by the bomb. The Cossack and the boy were still lying where they had fallen. He expressed solicitude for them. Many of the guards, rushed up to see and asked him if he was hurt, "Thank God! no," said the Tsar. "Come, let us look after the wounded." When his curiosity was satisfied, he was ready to drive away, Hryniewiecki who was leaning against the railing with a parcel in his hands, turned to face the Emperor and before any one could stop him, he shouted: "It is too soon to thank God yet, Alexander Nikolaevich," and raised both arms and made a sudden movement. There was a second deafening explosion. On the shattered flagstones of the sidewalk near the railing the Tsar was lying in a pool of blood. He was fatally wounded in the explosion and died a few hours later. Beside him lay his attacker, Hryniewiecki, who was also gravely wounded and unconscious. The assassination had been meant to ignite revolution. Hryniewiecki's fellow-conspirators — Nikolai Kibalchich, Sophia Perovskaya, Nikolai Rysakov, Timofei Mikhailov, Andrei Zhelyabov — were sentenced to death and were hanged on April 3, 1881. The song ended and Shake It by Metro Station played. We started dancing and spinning around. It was fun. I glanced to a side and noticed an angry expression on Lanas face. I looked around and saw Mitchie and Ian making out while dancing. *Oh my God!!!* I cried. Joe looked at them and laughed. *Finally!* he said. We laughed. We hanged out for a while and then we went our own ways to meet up with our friends. I could feel his Abercrombie cologne as we danced, we were very close to each other. He touched my forehead with his and put on a flirty smile. I giggled. I looked from his eyes to his mouth and back to his eyes over and over again. I wanted to kiss him so badly... I know he noticed. I bit my lip. He smiled leaned in hesitantly and slowly. I closed my eyes as our lips met. The world suddenly stopped turning. I was so happy! I didnt think he would do it but Im glad he did! He was a really good kisser. He bit my lip softly and placed his hand behind my neck. I played with his hair as we kissed, and he pulled me closer. We had completely stopped dancing. The kiss had taken both of us away, and nothing else existed around us. Of course, I didnt tell any of this to the girls, knowing Emma and Jane would have been completely disgusted by the fact that I was making out with their own brother. Ian then told me he had liked me since last year, when we first met, and that he never had the guts to tell me. I smiled at him and kissed him passionately again. He had no idea... I had been crushing on him since the very first time our eyes met, but I never thought he would set his pretty eyes on me. He hugged me tight and sweetly, as a new slow song played and we slow danced, as he held me in his arms. Janes P.O.V. Once again, Cupid Jane had done her magic! I couldnt believe it had finally happened! I didnt need details from their kiss, I had seen it all. We laughed and I hit her playfully when she said she wouldnt tell us. I then hugged her and congratulated her again. I was very happy for her. I then turned to ask Lucy what was up with her and Kevin. *Well, he is nothing like I thought hed be* she said seriously.
