Clinic on Danny Day 2 - Haunches-In Work (B) 12/10/2006 - Second day of two. Clinic with Tom Noone on my Trakehner gelding, Danny. We are schooling 2nd level. (Whoops about the beginning, it says Part 1 and not Part 2) Now we get to try it in the trot. He caught on so fast! We didn't have to go back to the walk, just gave it a go and he got it. Obviously just a little, but that is all we want, a few steps and a correct response. We'll go back to walk to teach more and then go back to the trot as we get more and more. Shoulders Rotate Around Haunches... Here is a clip of an exercise that I learned from Anja Beran's DVD Elegant Dressage Training. Of course Lucy and I are still learning so it is not as 'elegant' as what they show on the DVD (grin)! Tho we are using only a target and clcik nd treat!!!! Lucy can move her haunches around her shoulders easily, and often, so this exercise to to balance her ground work. What I liked most in this session is that she was not rushing the movement. TRYiNG to turn on the haunches, at the Canter! O.M.G. This is so harddd. =] its ( the vid) really not good. I have never done this before. I am not use to this horse! its quite hard to turmn on the haunches, andi its also hard to do it at teh canter.
