Riding a 1991 model Otis hydraulic elevator at Haverty's Furniture in Farmers Branch, Texas (at LBJ and Welch). I have been informed by a salesman that this Haverty's (an Atlanta-based company) is the largest of its kind in the United States. I remember my family and I going to this store once in 1995 (we have just moved here) and this store was huge! It had two floors! This elevator is not just small. This could possibly be one of the very first Otis "modern" elevators to make a "BEEP!" sound when you press a floor number. (Such elevators are common today in offices and hotels.) Also, going up and down sounds a lot like the water running through pipes hidden behind a wall (the up is more annoying than the down!)
