They went into the territory of the Gadarenes. The word Gad is in the word Gadarenes. And Gad was one of the 12 tribes of Israel. Joshua 22 -- Gad and another tribe were so far from the temple that the eventually built an altar to the lord there. It was forbidden by God to create a duplicate of God which was in the tabernacle of Moses. The tribe of Gad was so tired of going to Jerusalem because they were so far away. So they didn't want to go and they built there own place instead of going to the place in Israel. There are some Christians in America that don't want to go all the way to church so they stay home. Because Gad got away from the presence of God demons became comfortable -- Jesus encountered more demons then any other place in his ministry in the area of Gad. -- Demons became comfortable because there was not a presence of God there. Mark 5:2 -- Jesus steps off of a boat in Gadarenes and he sees a man who was possessed by demons. Mark 5:6 -- This man fell down and worshiped Jesus - It is very possible that the man didn't know who Jesus was but the Demons in him knew who Jesus was. Isaiah 45:23 -- Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that he is Lord - Jesus made the demons come out of the man. Then the demons went into the swine and they committed suicide by drowning their self. Jewish people don't eat pork so why were there pigs there -- it was the offering of Zeus. So Jesus got rid of Devils in a man and also wiped out Zeus' offering. Antiochus Epiphanes -- Defiled the temple -- He offered a swine on the Altar -- He did this because Zeus' offering was a pig Luke 8:37 -- They said to Jesus please leave the town -- This is why Perry believes they said this because Jesus wiped out all there pigs for Zeus Mark 5 -- The man went through 10 cities and began to preach about God -- After this the largest crowd that Jesus ever preached to showed up. -- Perry Stone believes the Man was responsible for this.
