Killzone - Helghast Assault Trenches Welcome to Killzone, the purported Halo rival on the PS2. While it certainly didn't live up to its name in the community at large, it was one of the first games to provide the dingy brown feel of realism that is apparently fact in games such as Gears of War and Call of Duty 4. I'm going to unload my gripes right now so I don't have to complain about them later. Aiming - Very sensitive. On minimum setting, a single tilt of the joystick will be about .5 inch on the YouTube screen. For comparison's sake, the sensitivity I was playing on in Urban Chaos was middle sensitivity. In other words, I can't HIT FOR for S... you know. Also, spray and pray should be just spray, because no amount of prayer can correct your aim in this game. HP system - Hate, hate, hate, hate. It would have been nice if healing didn't take forever, and you had more than a 6 bar recovery. They should rename difficulty from Hard to Depressing. Coupled with the Halo-style checkpointing, leaving an area with half health guarantees head-ripping (I had to play the 3rd part of this mission segment, which you will see in a few videos, over and over) Recoil - If you notice when I shoot, the screen does not hop up for recoil, the crosshair does. That would be easy to compensate if the crosshair didn't bounce up and down and up and down, making headshots almost impossible beyond the first shot, coupled with the impossible aim anyways. Sniping - Very odd style, where you have an origin, and you can move around the origin with nudges on the Cstick. You'll see it in the next game. So yeah, this game is far from perfect in my opinion. It has a great storyline, and you can see the cutscenes on YouTube, but unless you are masochistic, you probably will have a pretty hectic time on Easy difficulty as it is.
