Clay Incubator At the time The Archie Bray Foundation in Montana USA was constructing a new building marking the beginning of a new era in its history. The building, including studios for artists to work in and other technical facilities provided the Bray with top quality facilities to match its world-class reputation as an establishment for ceramic arts. Clay Body Incubator is a sculpture representing this new creative space, which also acts as a wood-fired kiln. The ritual process of firing it was a celebration of the ceramic creativity this new building represents. Kilns and buildings are poetically connected. In the same way a building is structured internally to house human life, so a kiln is built to house fire. Like life, fire needs constant feeding to grow. It can be unpredictable, yet it is always warm. When it dies it turns cold. Fire, in the contained space of this sculpture-kiln brings matter to life through intense heat and vivid light. Tianjin Women's Business Incubator (China) The Tianjin Women's Business Incubator (TWBI) is a non-profit business incubator based in Tianjin, China's third largest city, dedicated to promoting the growth and development of women-owned businesses of all types in Tianjin. While there are over 400 business incubators in China, TWBI is China's only women's mixed business incubator. It was established in 2000 with the financial assistance from the Tianjin Municipal Government, which provided the building and some cash investment, the Tianjin Women's Federation and three other local government authorities. The incubator had received earlier technical assistance in the form of business planning consultancies and training from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and has been guided in its establishment and development by consultants from Australia and the United States (US). TWBI currently has a building area of 5,000 square meters with 48 on-site tenants and 10 off-site tenants and to date has graduated 4 companies. Directly and indirectly it has been responsible for providing employment opportunities for an estimated 2,000 people, a ratio far higher than developed-country incubators. It offers clients start-up assistance, business training, business mastermind assistance and assistance to graduates, and it facilitates an on-site micro credit program which received seed funding from UNDP and the Tianjin authorities. Operating at full capacity, it has managed to develop near financial self-sufficiency through charges for office rent, business services and external training courses. Grill: How to Make A Homemade Chicken Incubator A possible solution to a major problem. We started off with a dozen "supposed" fertile eggs. Several began to develop but only one made it to Day 18. On Day 14, thanks to youtuber Ceciliaboo, we added 15 additional eggs to the incubator with our lone survivor. This was great news for the team, but bad news for the eggs. On Day 18 (Today) the egg is not to be turned and the humidity level is to rise dramatically. However, this would have a negative effect on the eggs that were just placed in the incubator. Either, the lone egg would make it and the new batch would die, or vice-versa. SO. Saturday night I had an epiphany. I woke up and drove back and forth from Lowes to Wal-Mart and to the school. I assembled a home-made chicken Incubator! I thought it was a silly idea, but it just might work. The lone egg will be placed here with the humidity level jacked WAY up. He can hatch and poop all over the place and the other eggs will not be affected. I may even make this into my permanent Hatcher. The temperature was soaring pretty high the last time I checked so lets just hope that this works. By the way, I cendled all of the 15 eggs and it looks as though ALL of them are fertile and small veins are already developing. Wish us luck!!! And keep your fingers crossed for the lone egg.
