Jacoby-Shermer debate, 1/10 [This is part 1 of Dr Jacoby's opening statement, refuting the existence of God.] The debate between international Christian speaker Douglas Jacoby and agnostic and skeptic Michael Shermer took place Saturday June 23, the highlight of the 2007 International Apologetics Conference, sponsored by the Apologetics Research Society. The debate topic: Does God Exist? Dr. Shermer is one of the three or four most famous atheist / agnostic scholars in the world, author of 12 books and President of the Skeptics Society. De fleste av visene er valgt ut etter flere års over PC og gitar, hvorav mange har for lengst har blitt presentert på konsertene mine. Skjærgården er ikke så tematisk framtredende på denne CDen som i de tidligere, men den er med. Denne skiva handler om alt fra kjærlighet, til det å være bestefar, om å møte en vinternatt foran Radiumhospitalet, om en bønn fra framtidige generasjoner, om sommerlige gleder osv. Å skrive på norsk er både naturlig og viktig for meg. Det er i det norske språket jeg har min identitet og føler at jeg kan stå på tryggest trygg grunn når jeg leter etter de riktige ordene og metaforene. Om jeg har funnet dem, må andre bedømme. Det eneste målet jeg har, er å nå deg gjennom å legge noen nye brikker inn i det store puslespillet. Og så håper jeg å få pusle videre på jakt etter de riktige brikkene. To Honor Rufus Jacoby 1912 - 2008 Rufus Jacoby, an acclaimed silversmith and woodworking artisan is featured in this little video doing some woodturning on one of his signature cut flower vases. It is a segmented turning showing a method that was distinctive to Rufus during his later years. The video was taken in March of 2005 when he was in relatively good health at the age of 94 years in the Woodcrafters Shop at Riderwood Village, an Erickson Retirement Community in Silver Spring, Maryland.
