Jazzanova - L.O.V.E and You and I Here's another lovely by Jazzanova. Taken from their 2002 album, "In Between". Again, the video blows, but it's all about the music. Addendum 04/11/08: WOW!! I'm amazed at the love this still photo montage video thing is getting. I'm truly happy you all enjoyed it. For longest time, I've wondered which songs Jazzanova sampled for LOVE and yesterday, after like 2-3 years of searching, I found out three of the songs sampled: Catalyst - "Uzuri" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YakxOn1yFZ4 Sylvers - "Only one can win" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8VE6-oyz6Q OC - "Time's Up" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWFC2PEbwCk I'm sue they used other classic material for the song, but just not sure which. If anyone knows, please enlightened us!!! Peace Tags: Jazzanova Sonar Kollectiv Nujazz Europe Jazz Berlin Germany World Music Global Soul |

Jazzanova ft. Leon Ware & Dwel - Rockin' you Eternally (♫) A lot of soul and the unique Jazzanova signature sound make an effective mixture that will infect listeners "Of All The Things" from start to end of this gorgeous album. Joyful listening is guaranteed! It's an album bubbling over with brilliant ideas and lively music, predestined to make a major impact on the international market. It contains songs that touch you immediately and go directly into your veins. There are several tracks that are likely to make you press the repeat button of your CD player. The six DJs/producers from Berlin show you where the journey can go. While earlier productions were often conceived to leave their mark on global dance floors, Jazzanova convinces on their sophomore album with their songwriting and their ability to make their tunes, in spite of all their complexity, sound catchy and natural. It's pure pleasure to hear how the opulent harmonies provided by silky strings and vocals are coupling with fat beats and basslines. They managed to create songs that grap you inside and make your feet move at the same time. Actually, it's almost impossible not to fall for this music. Whether you're a fan of this sound or not, Jazzanova proves to be a team of music producers with enormous talent. Their skills lie in creating soundworlds, sophisticated arrangements and unstoppable grooves that brings pleasure to the listeners ears. The internationally acclaimed singers and musicians who participated in these recordings did their best to make this album a musical gem. Leon Ware, the honeyd voice of the groovy 70s and producer of the Marvin Gaye album I Want You, showed up for a duet with Dwele (who showed his brilliance in collaborations with Common and Kayne West). Newcomer Paul Randolph, who like the two aforementioned artists, comes from Detroit, is already considered a new rising star in the soul firmament. The same goes for his London colleague Ben Westbeech, who recently released his debut solo album on Gilles Peterson's label Brownswood. Another highlight is delivered by Minneapolis' José James, whose vocals remind one of the jazzy styles of Terry Callier, Mark Murphy, and Gil Scott-Heron. In two brand new album tracks with MC Phonte (from the leftfield hip-hop band Little Brother from North Carolina) Jazzanova keeps true to their hip-hop roots. Since the very beginning of their careers, they've been protégés of international music biz greats with requests from all parts of the world. Shortly after Gilles Peterson asked them to do a remix for the United Future Organization, the Jazzanova beats flooded dance floors worldwide. Their remixes (for Common, MAW, Lenny Kravitz, Calexico, NuSpirit Helsinki, Fat Freddys Drop, Ian Pooley, Incognito, Ursula Rucker, 4Hero, Roy Ayers, and Azymuth) and their varied productions for the revue "Belle et Fou" and their own label, Sonar Kollektiv (f.e. Thief's "Secret Love") set new standards and have won them enormous fan bases in the UK, Japan, and the US. It would not be exaggerated to say that they already made it 80 times around the world if you only consider their curricula as DJs at big events and famous clubs in recent years. In a highly musical way, these DJs and producers blend folk, rock, indie, and 80s' soul music in different formats (in their DJ sets, in remixes and radio shows, on mix albums and compilations) and present this mixture in their unmistakable Jazzanova style. The new album was almost completely recorded live in the studio which shows the band's development. The former "masters of samples" created nearly their entire soundworld live, writing songs that could prove to be timeless and reverberate the fun they had while recording them. Jazzanova has been busy in the years since the release of their debut album In Between, and the wait for their second album was worth it. Jazzanova has found a real identity and created a sound world that will thrill their loyal fans and gain them many new admirers. LIKE WHAT U HEARD?
