Kakko on The Hitman and Her, 1990 From Feb 90 this is Kakko singing 'We Should Be Dancing' on The Hit Man and Her late night TV show from The Palm Court in Southport. Record produced by Stock Aitken and Waterman. Her career as a pop singer with SAW was short lived, and she returned from the UK to Japan in 1991. There has recently been an upsurge of interest in her time at SAW and the intrigue of the unreleased tracks in the PWL vaults. Now she is reportedly a TV actress in Japan working under her name Anju Suzuki. If anyone has any more information on her current career, please post it here. Japanese Traditional Drum Japanese taiko drums, while having antecedents in Chinese and Korean drums, have been developed into a wide range of percussion instruments that are used in both Japanese folk and classical musical traditions. Taiko, in general, are stick percussion instruments. With the exception of the kotsuzumi and ootsuzumi, all taiko are struck with drumsticks. They have heads on both sides of drum body, and a sealed resonating cavity. Taiko are also characterized by a high amount of tension on the drums heads, with a correspondingly high pitch relative to body size. This high tension likely developed in response to Japan's wet and humid summers when most festivals take place.
