Veteran observers John A., Juan D., Kelly F., Ted K., and Tim Livengood took the HIPWAC spectrometer to the IRTF observatory on the Big Island of Hawaii and were inspired to write the lyrics to "Hotel Mauna Kea". Mauna Kea #2 This is the second part to the chant Mauna Kea. Dennis Kamakahi parents found his music abilities to be a natural part of his life. His father Kenneth, at the age of 20, was the youngest multi-talented member of the Royal Hawaiian Band to hold first chair in the trombone section. Kenneth also played the cornet, euphonium, double bell euphonium, and baritone. Dennis would be found at most of the Band's rehearsals and concerts sitting in the trombone section on his father's trombone case and listening to the beautiful sounds of music being played around him. Five musicians, principals of the Brandenburg Symphony, have put together an unusual ensemble as a result of a desire to experiment with new sounds. The instrumentation of this ensemble clearly demonstrates this idea: Alpenhorn, didgeridoo, saxophone and percussion, instuments whose origins often are thousands of miles apart, which are woven through a mixture of composed and improvised music into a musical tapestry. Through its music, the Jacaranda Ensemble builds a bridge between the cultures of the world. Fünf Musiker und Solisten der Brandenburger Symphoniker fanden sich aus Lust am Experimentieren und mit Sensibilität für neue Klangwelten zu einem einzigartigen Ensemble zusammen. Das Instrumentarium spiegelt diese Idee deutlich wieder: Alphorn, Didgeridoo, Saxophon und Percussion; Instrumente, die ihrem Ursprung nach oft tausende Kilometer voneinander entfernt sind, werden in einem Geflecht aus komponierter und improvisierter Musik zu Klangteppichen verwoben.
