Rant 1 - Sleep Treatable Unstable Personality Intelligence Disorder Tired and deranged, I tried to do a FAQ to answer some of the questions I've been getting... but I ended up ranting randomly instead. The links I mentioned: About Carl Jung, whose theories influenced Persona series: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Jung A blog (not mine) about Persona (and also more of the MegaTen series): http://www.destructoid.com/blogs/tehlvler/megami-tensei-retrospective-persona-78459.phtml Classicgaming has an extensive overview of the whole Megaten series: http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/megaten/megaten.htm And, we just rediscovered Megaten Haven Forum: http://popanime.net/megami/yabb/ Also, my cousins' alter ego blog thingy: http://granitor.livejournal.com/ Newer blog made just for the YouTube Channel: http://bajan13k.livejournal.com/ Thanks for watching, although it is so sad... and S.T.U.P.I.D. Revelations: Persona - The Velvet Room (Raw) The Velvet Room. If you don't know what that is, then you don't know Persona. If you want to see Philemon's opening speech, that's another video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=99JDojFga-s Since most people never played this game, I'll explain it a bit. This is the place to do "fusions", wherbey each fusion results in a new Persona. The new Persona is determined by which two spell cards are used. Some personas also need a special item to be added (see the gamefaqs guides for that. Since Atlus doesn't like making money, they don't sell strategy guides for it anymore). How do you get Spell Cards? By negotiations with the manifestations which you meet. In megaten paralance, they're called "demons", but they aren't necessarily "demonic" in the Western/Christian view of the words. In megaten, "demon" is a catch-all term for an autonomous entity capable of fighting you, probally using some form of Spirit-based attacks, and possibly capable of negotiations as well. They tend to have group consciousness (lack individual ego), although they are exceptions (such as boss characters). Although it is not explained in Persona, in the megaten series on the whole, there's a movement to either seal the rifts which allowed demons to enter the "real" world (from the world or worlds of myth -- it seems each family, or genus, comes from a different realm), or to communicate with them (in SMT1, 2 you have a device which facilitates this) or to enslave them (in SMT 2 and Soul Hackers they're artificial demons, or Demonoids). The hardcore cyberpunk roots of the series don't show out much in Persona and it's sister game, SMT:IF.... Rather, they are more based on story and heavy on character development (I once denied this, but I was wrong, my bad). This would all be more obvious if Atlus were to remake the games for international audience, but they seem to hate making money, somehow. After all, regardless of Sony's feelings about putting the games on PlayStation, all of the games could have simply been released on the PC platform. So, anyhow, some of my other videos show the negotiation process in detail. Enjoy. The rest of this video: Besides the Velvet Room, at the end, you see a little bit of "Sun Mall". It should be noted that the door to the Velvet Room is more of a portal and the Velvet Room itself is more of a sub-realm. This is because they are several Velvet Rooms located somewhat conveniently in every mall and larger dungeon, but they're really the same room, it's just that wherever you enter from, you'll later exit to. Persona 4 - Famitsu DVD Promo (2/2) This promotional video was included with the latest issue of Famitsu. Persona 4 is the latest instalment in the popular MegaTen and Persona franchises. Taking place two years after Persona 3:FES, the story follows an unnamed protagonist moving to the countryside town of Yasoinaba, only to become entangled in an intricate murder-mystery filled with twists, turns and multiple endings. At the heart of it all lie the Personae and the mysterious Mayonaka TV, a television channel that can only be watched at midnight. The weather itself seems to be able to predict when certain events will occur, with a murder occurring during foggy periods after rain. The game will feature over 180 Personae and 60-70 hours of gameplay. The unique look and sound of Persona 3 is retained through Shigenori Soejima (art director) and Shoji Meguro (composer) respectively. The "One More" battle system from P3 also makes a return. The game is scheduled for release in Japan on the 10th of July, 2008. (Part 2 of 2 due to YouTube length restrictions.) P1 EG Lips Spell Card Getting Firstly, sorry about the video being so out of sync. This time, it's because I used my old capture setup and didn't even bother to fine-tune the capture program to work well, I was playing around and didn't expect to find/get EG Lips' Spell Card so soon... Secondly, this is by indirect request since someone on the Megaten Haven 2.0 board said they'd never gotten EG Lips. It seems that I did so by giving them a MagicStone, and making them angry. Which might be a bug in the game if Interest doesn't max out as well, but by "bug", Atlus probally means "feature". Anyhow, I can't really tell since the vid. is so stuttered... until I rebuild my vid. cap. sys. or tune this old one (still a rebuild, but a "softer" build), this'll have to do, I guess. P.S. to ATI (and AMD): Hire some competent software engineers, already! Heck, you can even hire me! You hardware rocks but usability is more pathetic than ... watching paint dry for entertainment! --- Links: Megaten Haven 2.0 (a bbs / online forum thingy): [ http://popanime.net/megami/yabb/ ] Tags: MIP megaten haven implicit request Revelations Persona EG Lips SpellCard negotiation contact Bajan13K bajan 13K video game bad-capture All-In-Wonder |

Persona 3 - Floor 47 ( "Boss - Golden Beetle" ) Video recorded by Master LL ( http://themasterll.net ) Floor 47 ( "Boss - Golden Beetle" ) Enemy Advantage?! When I saw that Power Up buff, I decided to play defense until I can find out their weakness. I love the new "Knockdown" tactic, since my allies will attempt to do Weakness Attacks on all enemies if they can... ...but sometimes they are stupid by "waiting" or using "Physical Skills" (which takes HP) if they don't have any skills that can cause a knockdown. Last, they don't heal unless it's extremely low HP too. This is why I changed Yukari & Mitsuru to Heal/Support, so I don't lose anyone due to low HP, plus they don't have any "weakness attack" to cause knockdown anyways. And those who were wondering.. yes, Lilim is one of my favorite demons from Megaten (which also cause me to fail beating the game in Nocturne due to my stubbornness of using her). At least P3 isn't as strict. I'm glad I got her to have really good skills which makes her worth using. ------------------ System: PS2-ENG 1st Gameplay, Normal Rank Level 20 Tags: shin megami tensei persona 3 masterll themasterll p3 megaten game play battle boss full moon |

Revelations: Persona - Lost Forest "Boss", Correct Answers Life is about choices... and so is this game... The fourth boss fight in the game is optional. Actually, if you fight this "boss", then you are actually going to get the short or "bad" ending. What I show in the video is the correct responses. Actually, I won't know for several more hours of game play if I really did the right thing, but I'm following the FAQ from GameFAQs.com by "Henry LaPierre", and so far it has been accurate. To summarize, during the conversation, answer: 1. "I'll be safe here, right?" "Stop!" (i.e. stop running away and hiding, you can't be safe anyways, face it straight.) 2. "Why do you fight?" "For everybody." (not just myself or others, but everybody can win in the game of life). 3. "Why do you live?" "For finding the answer." (i.e. life is about discovery, not disillusion and despair, and is NOT constant suffering, no matter what religions try to tell you.) Well, maybe I read my own life philosophy into it, but in general, megaten has some interesting "life lessons", like any other good art-sy work of entertainment. You know you got it right if she just gives you the compact. If you have to fight a giant teddy beat boss thingy, then you messed up.
