Sonic Rush Hacking: Dependency Swapping Alright, thanks to fellow SonicRetro user "Tanks", I've decided to dick around with Sonic Rush's innards. He sent me the program "Nitro Explorer" (found here: http://treeki.googlepages.com/NitroExplorer2b.zip), which allows you to export and inject files from NDS files. I noticed that Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure use the same types of sound files, so I completely blindly bumrushed the stuff and exported one file from Sonic Rush Adventure, and injected it all over the place inside the original Sonic Rush file. Now, Tanks says it isn't that big a deal, and it's nothing to get excited over, but I disagree. I think the prospect of playing Sonic Rush with the Phoenix Wright soundtrack is one of the best things to come out of DS hacking so far. But he and his buds have some stuff cooking up, so I think that'll be pretty exciting too. Audiosurf (Hideki Naganuma - Teknopathetic) This is pretty much one of the hardest tracks I've come across in Audiosurf so far (Although At The Drive-In - Enfilade comes close). This is by no means a perfect run. I mess up pretty bad at a couple of points. I hope it gives you a feeling for how insane most of Hideki Naganuma's tracks are in Audiosurf, though. Audiosurf (Hideki Naganuma - Ethno Circus) A Stealth run with Ninja Mono. You wouldn't believe how hard this is to pull off with Fraps running. As with all of Hideki Naganuma's tracks, Ethno Circus (From Sonic Rush) is insanely fast and intricate. This makes my Stealth run on Hello Meow look like a walk in the park. Naganuma vs. the Kingsmen - Back 2 Back Remix I had the idea to do this the first time I got to the Water Palace zone in Sonic Rush and heard the music (which was about a week ago, I'm extremely slow on catching up). This remix will either be made of epic win or epic fail; either I will be listening to this on my iPod all summer long or I will try to forget that I ever uploaded this. Personally right now I think it sounds awesome, just because I made it and it's my first experiment in audio editing and design (which means there are bound to be a few annoying mistakes in it). I can only hope that somebody else out there has the same opinion. I still think the credits card is neat, though. I liek sparkulz.
