Palin can't name a Supreme Court case Wow, I'm speechless. CBS News anchor Katie Couric asked Joe Biden and Sarah Palin some "Vice Presidential Questions." This installment tackles Roe v. Wade and Supreme Court decisions. If you think this woman should be allowed anywhere near the White House you need to get help. ==On Roe== "Immediately after saying what a terrible decision Roe was, Palin got a follow-up question from Couric about whether she believes there's a constitutional 'right to privacy'. "And Palin said, yes. "Now, narrowly speaking, you can believe in a constitutional right to privacy and also oppose Roe. But the right to privacy, as Couric says in the interview, is one of the cornerstones of Roe. And in the public debate yes or no on the right to privacy is something pretty close to a proxy for your position on abortion rights." The bottom line is that among conservatives opposition to a constitutional 'right to privacy' is a straight-up litmus test issue. Palin not only didn't have the right answer on the right to privacy. It was pretty clear she'd never even heard of it before." U2 - Where The Streets Have No Name (2002 Super Bowl Live) U2 performed this at halftime of the 2002 Super Bowl between the Patriots and Rams. As they played, names of victims in the September 11 attacks were scrolled on a giant screen. At the end of the performance Bono opened his jacket to reveal an American flag in the lining. "Where the Streets Have No Name" is more like the U2 of old than any of the other songs on the LP, because it's a sketch - I was just trying to sketch a location, maybe a spiritual location, maybe a romantic location. I was trying to sketch a feeling. I often feel very claustrophobic in a city, a feeling of wanting to break out of that city and a feeling of wanting to go somewhere where the values of the city and the values of our society don't hold you down. An interesting story that someone told me once is that in Belfast, by what street someone lives on you can tell not only their religion but tell how much money they're making - literally by which side of the road they live on, because the further up the hill the more expensive the houses become.
