Opportunistic Controls Opportunistic Controls are a class of user interaction techniques for augmented reality (AR) applications that support gesturing on, and receiving feedback from, otherwise unused affordances already present in the domain environment. Opportunistic Controls (OCs) leverage characteristics of these affordances to provide passive haptics that ease gesture input, simplify gesture recognition, and provide tangible feedback to the user. 3D widgets are tightly coupled with affordances to provide visual feedback and hints about the functionality of the control. This video demonstrates three different OCs in action. Tags: Augmented Reality 3D User Interfaces |

Siyayinqoba Beat It! 2004 Ep. 1 - Opportunistic Infections This 2004 Siyayinqoba Beat It! series was broadcast on SABC1. With Jason Wessenaar as the presenter, this fourth series' Support Group was comprised of some old and some new members. Once again Dr Nombulelo Madala was the resident doctor. At the end of each episode Jason summarised each episode's content with a 'Things we should remember' section. In this first episode the team looked at opportunistic infections and the need to treat them as soon as possible. It went on to show the benefits of being treatment literate: Treatment literacy allows you to demand the right drugs; the drugs that will work. Shock doctrine opens way for oil drilling More at http://therealnews.com/c.php?c=080801YT Naomi Klein: "Corporations are built to be opportunistic. That's their mission. If there's an opportunity, they must take advantage of it, and it's in the interests of their shareholders, and they shouldn't be sentimental about it. So that's what capitalism is supposed to do: take advantage of opportunities. What I'm talking about, and what I mean by disaster capitalism, is a political strategy." Siyayinqoba Beat It! 2005 Ep.7 - Treating OIs In this episode of Siyayinqoba Beat It! the support group spoke about the more serious opportunistic infections which occur when the immune system is very weak, when the CD4 cell count is below 200. This is the stage that is called AIDS. The reality is when your CD4 cell count is low, HIV positive people get a number of opportunistic infections but the good news is that with the help of ARVs many people recover even from serious opportunistic infections and get well again. Take Advantage of the Subprime Crisis: Portfolio Lenders How should you reevaluate your long-term investment plan in light of the subprime mortgage crisis? // What I want us to focus on, as 21st century investors: how can we be opportunistic? What's obvious is that we live in a time of great turbulence, financial turbulence, and a time of many financial excesses. As a result of those excesses and the turbulence that comes from them, it creates opportunities and it creates chances for good investors to be opportunistic. http://www.21stcenturyincome.com/ Tags: 21st century investor borrowed money loans portfolio lender real securitization subprime mortgage crisis |

PJ Talon-Mugen 55: Masta Gambit my two-hundred ninety-seventh Mugen video. Untamed Applicant Masta Gambit is a custom Gambit with all of his original moves from the Marvel Vs. Capcom series and more. His AI... so friggin opportunistic. always knows when to attack and block. And when he does attack, he will CHAIN SUPER AFTER SUPER AFTER SUPER, just like Phantom.of.the.Server's M. Bison. He also has a counterattack that can be done for FREE, as well as a counterattack that will cost him 1000 PP. Apparently, I had to follow suit and play opportunistically in order to beat him. The next update is supposed to have tweaked AI. Matches Shown: Lord Sinistro's Talon (me) Vs. The Problem of Vandalism - Destruction - Fun or Dumb? - 01 Destruction: Fun or Dumb? - Part 1. Deals with vandalism -- one of the major problems facing school administrators in every part of the country. Designed to make students realize that vandalism is dumb. Production Company: Counselor Films, Inc. Creative Commons license: Public Domain. Vandalism is the conspicuous defacement or destruction of a structure, a symbol or anything else that goes against the will of the owner/governing body, and usually constitutes a crime. Private citizens commit vandalism when they wilfully damage or deface the property of others or the commons. Some vandalism qualifies as culture jamming or sniggling — it is artistic in nature as well as being carried out illegally or without the property owner's permission. Examples include at least some graffiti art, billboard liberation and possibly crop circles. Criminal vandalism has many forms, graffiti on public property is common in many inner cities as part of a gang culture, however other more devastating forms such as those involved with public unrest, such as rioting, involve the wilful destruction of public and private property. Vandalism per se is often considered one of the least serious common crimes, but it can become quite serious when committed extensively, violently or as an expression of hatred and intimidation. In the case of vandalism to private property, the owner — the victim, may feel that they were specifically targeted by the perpetrator(s) — this is not necessarily the case. An example of such a crime would be the wilful destruction of a car window for no obvious purpose save to give the perpetrator(s) possibly a few seconds of entertainment, with no consideration, or empathy for the detriment to the state of mind or inconvenience of the victim. Reasoning for such actions can be attributed to anger, envy or spontaneous, opportunistic behaviour — possibly for peer acceptance or bravado in gang cultures, or disgruntlement with the target (victim) person or society. Opportunistic vandalism of this nature may also be filmed, the mentality of which can be akin to happy slapping. The large scale prevalence of gang graffiti in some inner cities has almost made it acceptable to the societies based there — so much so that it may go unnoticed, or not be removed, possibly because it may be a fruitless endeavour, to be graffitied on once again. Hiv Take the Test (Comment your Thoughts) Were listening Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a retrovirus that can lead to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), a condition in humans in which the immune system begins to fail, leading to life-threatening opportunistic infections. Previous names for the virus include human T-lymphotropic virus-III (HTLV-III), lymphadenopathy-associated virus (LAV), and AIDS-associated retrovirus (ARV). Infection with HIV occurs by the transfer of blood, semen, vaginal fluid, pre-ejaculate, or breast milk. Within these bodily fluids, HIV is present as both free virus particles and virus within infected immune cells. The four major routes of transmission are unprotected sexual intercourse, contaminated needles, breast milk, and transmission from an infected mother to her baby at birth. Screening of blood products for HIV has largely eliminated transmission through blood transfusions or infected blood products in the developed world. HIV infection in humans is now pandemic. As of January 2006, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the World Health Organization (WHO) estimate that AIDS has killed more than 25 million people since it was first recognized on December 1, 1981, making it one of the most destructive pandemics in recorded history. It is estimated that about 0.6% of the world's population is infected with HIV .In 2005 alone, AIDS claimed an estimated 2.4--3.3 million lives, of which more than 570,000 were children. A third of these deaths are occurring in sub-Saharan Africa, retarding economic growth and increasing poverty. According to current estimates, HIV is set to infect 90 million people in Africa, resulting in a minimum estimate of 18 million orphans. Antiretroviral treatment reduces both the mortality and the morbidity of HIV infection, but routine access to antiretroviral medication is not available in all countries. HIV primarily infects vital cells in the human immune system such as helper T cells (specifically CD4+ T cells), macrophages and dendritic cells. HIV infection leads to low levels of CD4+ T cells through three main mechanisms: firstly, direct viral killing of infected cells; secondly, increased rates of apoptosis in infected cells; and thirdly, killing of infected CD4+ T cells by CD8 cytotoxic lymphocytes that recognize infected cells. When CD4+ T cell numbers decline below a critical level, cell-mediated immunity is lost, and the body becomes progressively more susceptible to opportunistic infections. If untreated, eventually most HIV-infected individuals develop AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) and die; however about one in ten remains healthy for many years, with no noticeable symptoms. Treatment with anti-retrovirals, where available, increases the life expectancy of people infected with HIV. It is hoped that current and future treatments may allow HIV-infected individuals to achieve a life expectancy approaching that of the general public. If your Active Take the test.
