Anyway, this morning starts with Google's manager of Wireless, Rich Miner (pictured) sharing his views of the mobile telecom space and about his baby... Android. Inspite of his telco pedigree - he was working in the past at France Telecom's Orange Labs -, Miner had little sympathy for carriers who "failed" to bring the Internet to mobile devices and "came up with web browser standards who were very limiting". "They came up with arcane limited versions of HTML. So our whole world is moving to XHTML and more robust versions of browsers, these guys focused on limited sets. Turns out the iPhone proves what you can do on a mobile device and the Internet... What you're going to see is Webkit like full HTML and XML 2.0wy type web browsers appearing in phones. KH2FM - Larxene Data No Damage/More Restrictions (LV1 CM) Now for the no Reaction Command and magic challenge. It's a little trickier to deal with the clones without the RC, but for me the only complication was the first form. After that it wasn't too bad. But the whole Larxene getting through Guard thing was still a huge problem as it happens randomly. Here are the rules: No Damage No Magic/Reflect! No Drive No Limit No Item No Summons No using stat boosts No Armor No Accessories No Reaction Command Only have any of the following abilities equipped: Guard Horizontal Slash/Air Side Slash Finisher Rise/Leap Flash Step Slide Dash Guard Break Explosion Aerial Spiral Aerial Sweep Aerial Dive Aerial Finish Counterguard High Jump LV3 Quick Run Lv3 Dodge Roll Lv3 Aerial Dodge LV3 Glide LV3 Scan Combo Master Combo Plus (if you want, not recommended) Finishing Plus (only can be obtained in FM at LV1) ---- The thing that makes this different from Apul's other than the tiny differences in strategy is no magic at all. In the no Reflega videos we used Blizzaga to stop her from doing her Endless Thundaga combo. Without it, there's a chance she will do it after 3.7 or so bars of HP damage. You can either do insane timed Dodge Rolls and Quick Runs (it's possible I've done it, but only at about 50% success rate), or you can stop it by hitting her. Just like at the beginning she's open. I'll explain how to dodge it. You'll know she's about to do her endless thundaga attack if she starts running towards you in single mode. If this happens let her run up to you and then dodge roll her first Thundaga strike and then Quick Run the 4 other strikes that follow. She will do this 3 times in a row. After that she'll either clone herself or start the rest of the attack. If you're unlucky and she starts the rest of the attacks. She's open right after the 4th Thundaga attack, becuase then she'll start casting the bolts that follow you. If you get to her fast enough QRing the 4th attack, you can stop all of it. Good luck though, it requires a very well timed QR. I did weird things to spice it up, like Quick Running into her double clone dash when she powers up. I've never failed doing that so it wasn't really a risk for me, only if you have really bad timing skills. I also dodge the clone DM with dodge rolls instead of Guard this time. It keeps me less bored doing it that way. The method of attacking Larxene right after her clone counter attack was Apul's idea, the use it has is speeding up the second form a little bit more, but you don't have to do it. Again, the worst part is the final form. I decided to test out if you can Glide her drop down attack. It does work, because it gets through Guard sometimes so I got sick of using that. You can tell she's going to do the drop down move if one clone teleports too soon before the other. As for combing both Larxenes' at once, make SURE you don't do two finishers if you hit them both with Slide Dash/Flash Step. If you do they'll counter. It's only okay if you do the single hit for the second hit of the combo. I learned that the hard way. Also, I'm not totally sure how her Thundaga works in the final form, so I just glide it. If you try to dodge roll it you'll probably get hit, it's more strikes. So that means you have to rely on Quick Run to dodge the thorn attack. It complicates the last form more. I don't Guard the last hit of his DM since it makes it more interesting. Let's start off video #501 with a new restricted fight. You're probably wondering what I restricted on this fight. Only a couple things. But they're big. The first is, no looping. This means I can't keep doing the same combo and can't keep making him counter attack more than a couple times in a row (the exception is for his 3rd form, else he'll loop his DM move and it'll be too easy). Read more on the whole looping thing later in the description. The other is no magic, which means you have to time his forced counters perfectly or you're getting killed by the Key Whip move. No Damage No Looping Terra No Magic No Drive No Limit No Item No Summons No Armor No Accessories No using stat boosts Only have any of the following abilities equipped: Guard Horizontal Slash Finishing Rise/Leap Dodge Slash Slap Shot Flash Step Slide Dash Guard Break Explosion Aerial Spiral Aerial Dive Aerial Finish Counterguard High Jump LV3 Quick Run Lv3 Dodge Roll LV3 Aerial Dodge LV3 Glide LV3 Scan Combo Master Combo Plus Air Combo Plus Finishing Plus I had Aerial Recovery on by accident, but obviously you won't get to use it anyway, since Terra will OHKO you with basically everything. ---- So more on the non-looping. As people who have faught Terra know, he randomly picks an attack pattern at the beginning of the fight. Each attack pattern comes with a couple attacks, and he doesn't change his pattern until he goes into another form/phase. So I'm not directly looping him as you'd see in my original Terra LV1 video, but there's nothing you can do about him doing the moves from any attack pattern. The only time it's actually random from what I can tell is his 3rd form. So no complaining about how he does some attacks like 2-5 times in a row. I try to combo him with different combos, and try to mix between not making him counter and making him counter, but it only helps a little. Where things get interesting is his final form. The only way to NOT loop this is after the DM, you HAVE to attack him with combos until he counters. Else he will just keep doing the DM over and over and it'll be boring and long. The other way is to just sit there and not attack him after DM, but I didn't want to make the video too long or anything so I just kept attacking whenever there was an opening. As for some humor, at 3:08ish something pretty funny happens. I won't spoil it, you can find out for yourself. As for why do I attack his death ball to deflect it? I do it for fun. It's harder to time than Guarding though so be careful if you try it. And for his DM, I came up with yet another way to dodge the DM. I found out how to prevent yourself from getting hit from behind for his 3rd part of his DM, so I don't put my back to the wall anymore (except for last DM, since I didn't want to risk anything). He can still show up behind you but it's blockable for sure. So you block his first strike, and then just let the two other hits miss you from Guard's after affect, and then either Guard his slashes or Quick Run away and do whatever you want for his final strike. In short, it's way more fun to fight Terra this way at LV1 than to loop him. I spent at least a few hours learning his attack patterns completely and what he does when you attack or when you don't attack and all that good stuff. Since a decent amount of people have done Terra at LV1 now, I wanted to set myself apart from them. Anyone want to try this challenge? I'm curious to see other people try.
