reality of Samurai X-Yumi is from Yoshiwara 1[Eng,sub] Miss.Yumi Komagata(Shishio Makoto's partner) was Oiran in Yoshiwara befor she met Shishio. Oiran(花魁/おいらん)/Tayu(太夫/たゆう) is a highest rank of woman[courtesan] of Yoshiwara [brothels at Tokyo].（吉原/よしわら）. The parade/march of Oiran like this scene calls "Oiran-Dochu(花魁道中/おいらんどうちゅう)" This walking style is "Soto-Hachi-monji(外八文字/そとはちもんじ)" ― first put the toe outside, then take a step as if it is drawing a circle like [8 /eight/八/はち/hachi ] at ground slowly slowly... is the origin of Soto[out]-Hachi[8]-Monji[letter]-foot-step. Wearing beautiful Kimono and shoes with very high heels, Oiran is showing off not only she is a No.1 but also she is ,in a way, a worst 1...from the following reason. Rurouni Kenshin[amime] is a treasury of history and mystery. Yumi-neisan is also one of key person to see Meiji era. She tells about Yoshiwara.(manga vol.17) In Meiji era, some women/men had to pledge their health and pride for a loan in order to get money so that they could struggle against their terrible poverty and starvation. By the way, Yoshiwara(Yumi-neisan) is defferent to a Call Girl.　Because Call Girl is illegal, while Yoshiwara had been legalized as public ill utility under the sacrifice of human rights from Edo shogunate[lord] era 1617. And, When Yoshiwara women were not to be able to work any more, they were thrown away like garbage in Jokanji(Jokan-temple). So the temple was called throw-away-temple(投げ込み寺/なげこみでら，nage-komi-dera). Yumi-neisan also tells about "Maria Luz Ship Incident". It's happend in 1872 historically. Yoshiwara　―　this inferior convention was not be corrected even feudal society turned into democratic world. (by the effort to Kenshin-side) So overseas visitors made a complain and asked New Government a explamation about Yoshiwara . New Government replyd , "Yoshiwara women/men are not a human but an animal". New Government's view of Yoshiwara caused a great political scandal.(and Yumi-neisan seems to join anti-new government groups -Shishio's group.) But the time of putting a law into force of prohibition of prostitution had to be　waited until Apr 1st on 1957.
