Iha Shaariputra ruupam shuunyataa shuunyataiva ruupam, ruupaan na prithak shuunyataa, shuunyataayaa na prithag ruupam, yad ruupam saa shuunyataa, yaa shuunyataa tad ruupam. -In this case, Shaariputra, form is voidness and voidness is itself form; voidness is not different from form, and form is not different from voidness; that which is form is voidness, and that which is voidness is form. Evem eva vedanaa-samjnaa-samskaara-vijnaanaani. -So it is for perception, conception, volition and consciousness. Iha Shaariputra sarva-dharmaah shuunyataa-lakshanaa, anutpannaa, aniruddhaa, amalaa, na vimalaa, nonaa, na paripuurnaah. -In this case, Shaariputra, all things have the characteristics of voidness; they neither arise nor perish; they are neither defiled nor pure, neither deficient nor complete. The Sanskrit Language and Mantras - Spirituality Growth Sanskrit is the only language available that has the letters and sounds to make up the mantra. No other language can meet the power and energy of the true divine sound. Transcription Is Sanskrit the only language for Mantras? Chanting mantras means that you will always be protected. Sanskrit has powerful sounds used in recitation of mantras that other languages lack. Sanskrit has 52 vowels and consonants and their combination makes very powerful sounds. It is a mystery how these powerful sounds were discovered but we are fortunate to have them available to us. A mantra is a combination of sound and this combination is divine. While you chant a mantra everyone around you will be protected. In Sanskrit each letter of the alphabet has a meaning. No other language has this. This is another reason why a mantra cannot be in any other language. Now, when different sounds with different meanings are put together these sounds affect the mind, thoughts, and the body. A mantra is divine. For example, when a, u and m are combined it becomes AUM. AUM is the root of all languages. A stands for Brahma, U stands for Vishnu, and M for Shiva. AUM is the equivalent of God the divine. Other languages may have rhythm, harmony and poetic sounds. Sanskrit has all of that plus more. Know that when mantras are recited the mind, body, and thoughts are affected. *tags* spiritual, spirituality, spiritual teacher, spiritual guru, spiritual master, seeker, truth, enlightenment, peace, self-realization, meditation, awareness Tags: sanskrit mantra mantras mala AUM OM energy divine sound spirituality spiritual prayer teacher meditation |

Phonetic Importance of Sanskrit From works of living enlightened Master Paramahamsa Nithyananda. In this discourse Swamiji beautifully explains to us that all sounds in the universe can be reduced to the 52 syllables in the Sanskrit language. He talks about the phonetic importance of Sanskrit. This is why, mantras when chanted, even though one may not understand the chant, will still receive tremendous benefits due to the vibrations created by chanting.
