A recently found unreleased song from the 70's studio vaults? No. It is a mash-up of what almost was a Sex Pistols record. The Sex Pistols were far a head of their time for the 70's. No other band were as shocking in the world of rock, fashion and politics. They changed attitudes. After the Sex Pistols music became more streamlined and/or thrashier. The 80's and beyond have yet to catch up. They complete Rock'n'Roll's "Holy Trinity" Elvis, Beatles & Sex Pistols. Nothing else happened after the Sex Pistols. So, it's 1978, right. Jan 14 2:00 pm The Pistols are in San Francisco about to perform their last show at the Wonderland Arena. Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious are unknowingly giving their last interview together for KSAN radio. Sid discusses a new song they have "about God". Only hours later the Sex Pistols split up for almost 20 years. No more new material was ever recorded by Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook, Glen Matlock or Sid Vicious as a group. The song Sid refers to is released as "Religion" on John Lydon's 1st Public Image LTD LP with only Johnny's voice, no music. As the Professionals, Steve Jones and Paul Cook issue a rare instrumental single B-Side titled "Action Man". "The Sermon - Sod In Heaven" incorporates both recordings and a bass line intro from "Marching Men" from Glen Matlock's first Rich Kids LP. "We make people think" It's blasphemist words and blistering guitar would have made this yet another banned recording for them had it been released in 1978. This mash up brings together all five original Pistols.
