Grand Opening of Atlantis - Part 2 Robert DeNiro, Lindsay Lohan and Charlize Theron attended the $35 million launch of the world's most expensive hotel. Deliverance - Dueling Banjos Scene HQ http://www.myspace.com/whaletailrocks this is me playing the banjo :D~ Billy Redden (born 1956 in Rabun County, Georgia) is an American actor best known for his role as Lonnie—the "banjo kid"—in the 1972 movie Deliverance. Redden, then sixteen, earned his role in Deliverance during a casting call at Clayton Elementary School in Clayton, Georgia. To add authenticity and humor to the film, the filmmakers found Redden to fit the look of the inbred and mentally retarded banjo boy called for by the book, although Redden himself is neither. The scene depicts Redden playing the instrumental Dueling Banjos opposite actor Ronny Cox on guitar. Because Redden could not really play the banjo, another young banjo player knelt behind him and reached around his chest to reach the banjo, with Redden wearing a specially made shirt that made the man's arms appear to be his own. Additionally, the shot was filmed from angles that made it impossible to see the musician behind Redden on the porch. At the end of the scene, the script called for Redden to harden his expression towards Drew Ballinger, Cox's character; however, Redden was unable to fake dislike for Cox. To solve the problem they got Ned Beatty (whom Redden truly disliked) to step towards Redden at the close of the shot. As Beatty approached, Redden hardened his expression and looked away exactly as intended.[citation needed] Jon Voight claimed Redden "was a boy who had a genetic imbalance -- a product of his mother and his brother, I think. He was quite amazing, a very talkative fellow."[1] Redden also appeared in Tim Burton's 2003 film Big Fish. Burton was intent on getting Redden, who hadn't appeared in a film since Deliverance, to play the role of a banjo-playing welcomer in the utopian town of Spectre. Burton eventually found him in Clayton, Georgia, where Redden works as a cook, dishwasher and part-owner of the Cookie Jar Café. In 2004, Redden made a guest appearance on Blue Collar TV playing an inbred car repairman named Ray in a "Redneck Dictionary" skit, for the word "raisin bread" (Ray's-Inbred). Tie the 'Windsor' knot The Windsor knot, also (wrongly) known as the "Double-Windsor" (a non-existing enormous 16-move knot), is the most well known knot in the world. The Windsor is a large, symmetrical, self-releasing triangular knot. The tie was named by Americans in the 1920-30's after the Duke of Windsor. The Duke was known for his fondness of large triangular tie knots, but didn't in fact invent this particular knot. His secret was a specially tailored tie with an extra thickness of material. There are four tie-versions that result in the "Windsor" knot; two self releasing, and two non-self releasing. This version filmed here is considered as the original (self releasing) version. César Brito is still flying, because he did in the airshow EXACTLY what was planned and trained to do. That was not a stupid idea executed in a moment, it took weeks of preparation. 2. Brito knew perfectly how Evora airfield is. He's playing with an optical effect; the other side's ground has a slightly downward form. 3. Co-pilot was another A310 commander, and during the show he was focused in altitude to continuously report to César. 4. Plane passed a complete overhaul just before this airshow, so the risk of failures was minimum. 5. Plane continued flying with passengers until retired soon, but after a reccommended inspection by Airbus officials. -------------------------------------- To say a bit about how I recorded this video, I was in the organisation team in the Copa Triangular de Vuelo Acrobático at Portugal Airshow, so I was able to record this really close to it. First passes are recorded very close to the runway; the jet blast hit me plenty! The last one is recorded from CTVA temporary control tower in Evora. That A310 was really great!!! Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Unleashed @ 2008 SEMA FOR FULL SEMA COVERAGE: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/autoshows/sema/2008/2010fordf150svtraptornews.html LAS VEGAS — Ford gave journalists an early look today at the F-150 SVT Raptor, a high-performance off-road truck that will make its world debut at the 2008 SEMA Show. Designed for hard-core off-road use, the F-150 SVT Raptor gets a long list of suspension upgrades along with unique bodywork and an optional 6.2-liter V8 engine. The Raptor is the first application of the new 6.2-liter V8 and although its specifications haven't been finalized, Ford officials said to expect around 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. A 5.4-liter 3-valve V8 is the standard engine. Both engines are backed by a six-speed automatic transmission. All Raptors will come standard with four-wheel drive and a locking rear differential. Suspension upgrades include new upper and lower A-arms up front, retuned leaf springs in back and a set of race-quality Fox Racing Shox that combine to allow up to 11.2 inches of travel up front and 13.4 inches in back. The track is 7 inches wider than a standard F-150, so the Raptor also gets wider front and rear fenders along with longer half-shafts and a revised tie rod to maintain proper suspension geometry. The standard 17-inch wheels are cast aluminum while the specially designed BFGoodrich tires measure 315/70R17. The interior features bucket seats with additional side bolstering, metallic door trim, a unique SVT instrument panel and a set of console-mounted auxiliary switches for owner-installed accessories.
