Marriage and Children - Spirituality Spiritual Families Should people be "married" to have children? Marriage is promoted by society and religions for a reason. Having a father and mother will help the children develop more so than a child being raised by a single-parent. If a couple chooses not to be married when having children, at the least, it is better for the couple to be living together. Transcription Do you have to be married to have children? This is a real dilemma for society. After the two world wars, society is being torn apart. In order to compensate for this loss we have created days in the year where families get together, like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Many children in the US and Europe are being raised by a single parent, usually the mother. Children suffer because parents are not committed to a marriage and fathers are forced by the courts to pay child support. Within a marriage, because there is commitment, the family does not go through a bad experience. For the good of society, a man and a woman should be either married or at least living together. A child is complete when it has both parents living together. Children are very sensitive and they can sense that something is lacking in a family's life. At least in early childhood it is important that both mother and father live together. Furthermore, for a better society it is good not to have children without marriage or at the very least commit to living together when you have them. Beyond being merely a piece of paper, a marriage should have harmony while raising children. By being nurtured in this way a child will grow up to be someone useful in society. Both parents' presence teaches children by example. Society has become violent because of the lack of good foundation at home during the young age of a child's development. Love is lacking from either the mother or the father. It is time for families to come together again. The courts are recognizing this and they are refusing to grant divorce so freely in order to help the family reconstruct itself. Good families have good values. A mother should have good judgment about having children. She needs to be wise. After all, a mother is the child's first teacher. White Clothing, Importance of Colors, Spiritual Teacher Transcription: Why do you wear white? Colors affect your life. Different countries and regions assign different attributes to colors. In America wearing black is a sign of power. In India it is the opposite. These ideas are man-made but color affects you regardless. If you wear red your energy will increase. If you are depressed wear white because it brings peace. If you want to attract money wear black or green. Wear emerald set in gold and you will attract money. Wearing this however, is not enough. You have to put effort to create money. Color attracts and heals many things. The best color for peace is white. That is why I have chosen this color. It is soothing and symbolic. It brings peace in the world. I want to bring peace, truth and light to the world. People have the right to know the truth about God and also themselves. Choose to learn the right way in order to always be in peace. One day you might choose to also wear white. And where did God come from? I tell you that all beliefs are false because your belief today might change tomorrow. One day all beliefs might be gone. The belief is that God created this world and the universe but then the question arises that "who created God?" This is only our belief. If we exist, God exists. Go back 5000 years and you will find that people did not have a concept of God. They worshipped trees, stars, moon and the sun. No ancient text mentions God. Spirituality: Karma? Reincarnation? What is it? Karma and Karmic Theory is full of complexities. Dr. Acharya Yogeesh simplifies some concepts of karma since most are confused on the topic. Karma, Rebirth and Reincarnation are discussed. There are only two eternal things: matter and soul. Transcription What can you tell us about Karma? Good deeds bring good karma; bad deeds bring bad karma. Bad karma brings suffering and good karma brings happiness and prosperity. It makes life easy. To collect good karma your intention has to be pure. For example, if a beggar on the street comes across an accident and he makes every effort to help by putting his whole being there, he collects good karma. He did not have money and he couldn't provide facilities to the injured but his intention was very pure. It means his soul is improving and he could come back as a higher person in his next life. Karmic theory works that way. There is no God that is telling you what to do. There is no "Almighty God" because an Almighty God will not allow suffering, like a father will not let his child suffer. A father will sacrifice anything to save his child from pain. This is an ordinary father not an almighty father. How can an almighty father let his children suffer? This idea of God that churches, synagogues, and temples perpetuate is for the support of the institution. If this idea is dropped there will be no institution of religion. So truth is withheld and those who do tell the truth are crucified. It is the responsibility of the one who knows truth to tell it. Otherwise he is a liar and a liar according to the Bible will burn in hell. God exists but he is not the almighty that is ascribed to him. God has power and we can benefit from it. God does not direct you to do the right thing. We have to be wise enough to know and do the right thing. Those who are not wise will just pray but prayer doesn't help you. You have to act. We need to change our ideas and learn what the right thing is. We will not suffer when we do the right thing. We will stop blaming God for things not going our way when we take the right action. Your own karma makes you rich or poor, not God. You are always collecting karma. There is something like an electronic chip inside you that holds trillions of bits of information. Your inner camera is capturing your actions every moment. It will show you the future. Be aware and you will not collect bad karma. Always think good thoughts, have good intentions and do good deeds. No one is ever content, people always want more, more, and more. Having everything doesn't bring happiness. Transcription Greediness, the root of sin King Akbar of India and his minister, Birbal, used to take evening walks together. One day they were passing by a shop and they noticed that the owner was sitting and he was very sad. They asked him why he felt so sad. He told them that at the beginning of winter he had bought 100 blankets for 5 rupees each hoping to sell them all. But he could not sell any and winter was coming to an end. The next day, the king announced that everyone had to come to the court meeting with a blanket; otherwise they would have to pay a fine. Everyone went to the man's shop and bought his blankets but he kept raising his price. He sold all except one, which he wanted to keep for himself. Then Birbal came to buy the last blanket. He offered the shopkeeper 100 rupees. The shopkeeper would not sell it. Not until Birbal offered 200 rupees was he able to purchase it from him. The following day, the King and Birbal walked by his shop and they saw him very sad again. The king wanted to know the reason why. The shopkeeper was upset that he had not raised the price of the blankets from the very beginning. He said that he could have made much more money and could've been rich if he had sold each blanket for 100 rupees. Human nature is such that it cannot be satisfied no matter how much money the person makes. Money leads a person towards sadness, disappointment, and frustration. He might be happy for a while but sadness returns. The root of depression and disappointment is greed. Greed is the root of sin. We have to realize where this root is within us and shine light to it so it dies. When roots see the light they die. Work on the root of greed so you can gain freedom.
