In those days the yellow plastic leggings would start to melt when they got hot. We were also issued with nylon working rig trousers and the combination of the two together was not a good idea. Sussex County Fairgrounds Irish Festival Augusta New Jersey 27TH Irish Festival Augusta New Jersey iaanj - RADIOIRISH.COM Mark your calendars now for the Irish festival to be held on Sunday, Sept. 14 at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, New Jersaey. This 27th annual festival, sponsored by The Irish-American Association of Northwest Jersey, has been greatly expanded this year: ten bands have already entered the new bagpipe competition and will also present a massed band exhibition. No fewer than five bands will offer more entertainment: Mike Byrne, Eamonn Ryan, Round the House, and in the beer tent, Ian Gallagher and Dicey Riley. Music for the ceili (traditional group dancing) will be by the Patti Furlong Ceili Band. You can see competitors from the tri-state area and beyond competing in step-dancing, traditional Irish music and Celtic Art. If you like to bake, why not enter the soda bread competition yourself! Vendors of Irish products and several food vendors will also be on hand. The Fairgrounds are on Rt. 206 in Augusta, one mile beyond its merger with Rt. 15 North. The festival starts at 8:30 a.m. Admission $12 for adults; senior $10 and children under 14 are free. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy! Sussex County Cricket Club is one of the 18 major county clubs which make up the English domestic cricket structure, representing the historic county of Sussex. Its limited overs team is called the Sussex Sharks. Sussex CCC was the first First-Class County formed in 1839 The club plays most of its home games at the County Cricket Ground, Hove. The club also plays some games around the county at Arundel, Eastbourne and Horsham. Having won its first-ever official County Championship title in 2003, Sussex repeated the success in 2006. The 2006 title was secured following a victory against Nottinghamshire, in which Sussex outplayed their hosts by an innings and 245 runs. In 2006, Sussex could officially claim that they are the best cricket team in England. Mushtaq Ahmed (Urdu: مشتاق احمد) (born 28 June 1970 in Sahiwal) is a Pakistani cricketer, more specifically a leg spin bowler. He is known for his hard-to-pick googly. He trapped Graeme Hick in front with one during the 1992 World Cup Final. He was a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1997. However, despite taking over 150 one-day international and Test wickets, he hasn't played international cricket since October 2003. He has played a lot of county cricket in England, including for Somerset and Surrey earlier in his career, and now for Sussex. In 2003, Mushtaq was the leading wicket taker in county cricket, finishing the season with 103, and inspiring Sussex to the County Championship title. Following this, he was recalled by Pakistan but was soon dropped for being ineffectual. In the 2004 season, Mushtaq was again the leading wicket taker in English county cricket with 84 scalps, but with Danish Kaneria's emergence as Pakistan's first-choice leg spinner, Mushtaq looks unlikely to play for Pakistan's national side again. Recently, the Pakistan Cricket Board hired Mushtaq Ahmed to coach the Pakistan bowlers.[citation needed] Mushtaq acted as interim coach of the national team for Pakistan's final group game of the 2007 World Cup following the death of Bob Woolmer [1]. In 2006, Mushtaq (or "Mushy" as he is best known to Sussex fans) took 102 wickets as Sussex once more won the County Championship, as well as the C&G Trophy. He began the last Championship match of the season, against Nottinghamshire, on 89 wickets, but a haul of 13 in the match (including a career-best 9-48 in the second innings) took him past the hundred mark once again.
