On doute franchement de la réalité de ce Sylvester Boy, même si un certain Thomas Sehl (aka Schorsch Kamerun) est crédité sur la pochette pour la musique et les lyrics. Les notes de pochette mentionnent "Yes, it's true, I am the Sylvester Boy", mais on n'est pas dupe, ce Sylvester Boy-là sera le cheval de Troie de la guerre que mènent les COS contre le big business. Monster rule the world est à entendre selon son double sens : les monstres règnent sur la planète (Bill Gates, J-M Messier, etc.) et les monstres vont régner sur la planète (Frankenstein en première ligne, Sylvester Boy et les poupées copiées-collées qui errent sur le site des COS en fantassins désarticulés). Belliqueux, l'album de Sylvester Boy se décline comme un hommage permanent à Love missile, le tube eighties des défunts Sigue Sigue Sputnik (produit par Giorgio Moroder, la boucle est bouclée), sorte d'hymne guerrier monté sur "la" bass-line electro (le son primordial, la table de la loi electro que Tocotronic, Console, Michiko Kusaki et consorts reprennent en chœur dans chacun de leurs disques), agrémentée de vocaux vindicatifs, éructations à la Alan Vega, nimbées de réverbération et de montées de synthés vintage. Les trois accords fondamentaux d'un Elvis futuriste et punk, joués sur une machinerie high-tech. "In New York City and Tokyo / Monsters rule the world" : les monstres règnent sur la planète, mais ce sont les nouveaux monstres, les Freaks à la Todd Browning, les monstres sympathiques dont l'étrangeté et la singularité constituent l'éternelle lutte de l'individu contre l'uniformité et la dictature du super model.
