[FPVOD TvT] Wraiths Strategy 2 Add "&fmt=18" to the end of the URL for Stereo Sound All FP matches that I've played, were played in a small Desktop 640x480 Window and not in full-screen. SC only fills (1/5) of my monitor! It really makes it hard to micro and hit anything! Comments: If you want to criticize anything I will only take critics from someone that actually uploads a FPVOD of himself playing as a Video response! (preferably Terran) Just replace your Mouth-skills with SC_FPVOD-skills and share your opinions that way. No-one in my VODs has any pro-gamer ambitions or thinks he's anything special. Just enjoy life for once! Replay: http://www.box.net/shared/7wt4z3dkwo Match: This is a classic paranoid Terran opponent, it will surprise you how some Terran's, that are confronting a few wraiths, react. It's down to a different 2 port build, where they expect 3-6 cloaked wraiths in their base, but that's exactly what this strat builds on, making the Terran believe that he must delay his expansion and make turrets. He's waisting time and minerals expecting something that will not happen in the time frame that he's expecting it to happen! It's a kind of double bluff, by the time the Terran realises whats happening, your making 3 further Ports going Mass Wraiths! By then it's too late for him to really do anything safe & effective, but to move out and break that containment or try to mass stealthy drops on expansions or side drop troops (Goliaths) out of their own base so they can move freely on the map. Experienced players will not fall for the bluff and catch on what your up to really fast. So you have to really manage, take care and repair them Wraiths in the early game. The key is the timed, but very weak containment that you must put up 1st and hold! enjoy! PS: This bo & strat can also be a good counter to the 2 port fast wraiths strat of an opponent. In that case, it is important to make an early scan and just follow his 2 port strat through with your expansion, you may lose a few SCV's and a Wraith or two, but he will run out of cloak energy ( sometimes they don't tech cloak, but your 2nd. wraith will have cloak) meaning, you can continue with the 3 port strat, then make a 2nd factory and follow it through like in this VOD, don't waist your time on turrets, cuz he will run out of cloak and you'll match his wraith production and u will have 2 scans! You may have 1 or 2 wraith-scan fights but most probably will own or match the losses, cuz most Terran's do switch to Tanks and Goliaths. If they do they'll run out of cloak and Wraiths in the process, giving you the advantage! Some Terran's get so pissed off after been beaten by their own strat, that they leave the match totally frustrated! Things to fear: 1. fast vults tech with mines + speed killing Tanks on your ramp (20%) 2. The fast and well timed Goliath drop (40%) (tough one!!) 3. overseeing/missing an early contain vs U (50%) 4. A Terran mirroring your strat (2%) 5. some uber_gosu's or map-hacker's with built in radars, mass dropping you without scanning or triggering your turrets flying evasive routs without any obvious reasons! (50% B.net) 6. opponents having 3 scans + valks= u failed 7. random turrets on the map in early game ..... they can make u write GG befor you know it! IF you have the feeling your playing a hacker the following will happen 99% of the times: HACKERS: 1. He will always attack your weak containment or spot the moment you move your Wraiths out of defending range, so try and keep them Wraiths on the move but within defending range. ( the center of the map allows you to move to all points of the map within the same time range) 2. he will hold back units and tech drops and sneak around you blind spots. By then you should have nearly 2 groups of Wraiths, keep the 2nd group moving around and within striking distance of you "blind spot corridors" as bait. Make random turrets, use your buildings and scan scan scan scan! 3. If he does get through, don't panic!!! Go for the empty drop ships 1st. Remember he will always go for your weakest spot, so it shouldn't really surprise you! Sometimes you can get lucky and trap 2-5 drop-ships full with Goliaths on an Island ^^ 4. Hackers mainly alibi scan directly on the middle of buildings or like "on the head of a nuking ghost ^^lol"! They are very quick on that scan button vs Wraiths, meaning they always scan earlier than normal sometimes far too early. 5. They also unload drop-ships for no apparent reason, rescanning wait for cloaked wraiths approaching or start loading drops-hips when they are sure your moving away (mini-map hack) out of striking distance. In this case play hit and run with their scan count. You should have 3-4 scanners vs his 2 Scanners by then!
