DUNCAN SISTERS - Vaudeville - 1906 Victor-Model 2 - 1920s The DUNCAN SISTERS, a sister act in vaudeville much like the Trix Sisters, sing "Um-Um-Da-Da" from the musical comedy, TOPSY and EVA, written by the Duncan Sisters. Edna Fisher is the piano accompanist .... Victor 19311-A. The talking machine is a Victor 2 (#9363), possibly bought in 1906. Purists will readily notice that the Exhibition sound box was replaced with a later Victrola #2 sound box. The original flower-type horn is in attic storage. I also have an Orthophonic sound box to use with this machine. This is a one-wind one-play unit that I purchased at age 11 for $1 at Hope Rescue Mission's store in Reading, PA. As is obvious, this machine has been in "dead storage," and what appears to be a heavy coating of dust is---in fact---dust! (I plan to clean up my act in the very near future.)
