Wizard tractor gets a 26hp V-Twin Briggs & Stratton motor Nobody beats the WIZ! In this video we remove the old 16hp opposed twin motor and install a new motor: The rebuilt 26hp V-Twin Briggs & Stratton ELS Series motor. This is one of the many AS-IS engines we bought off of Mel-Co on eBay. This one obviously needed a rebuilt; it had a thrown rod. Dave goes into the ELS twin's flaws that causes them to fail, it was a very widespread problem until Briggs redesigned the cover and air filter, and we literally have a stack of these ELS motors now thanks to that. The camera was off for a while during the install of the motor, so that's why it looks like the new motor went on faster than the old motor was removed. We had trouble with the electrical system because it's different on the newer motors, so that took up about an hour. (Making the connections, discovering it was wrong, then doing it again) I also noticed that I did a lot of standing around; I'll have to make a note not to be so lazy next time! At 26hp the Wizard is the most powerful lawn tractor we have!
