"Whereafter" College of Marin Title: Whereafter Choreographed and Performed by: Brennan Figari Music: Excerpts from "The Fountain: Soundtrack" Thanks to Kristi Kuhn for being my mentor! My first choreographed dance piece. Pretty somber, but that's where I was when I first started creating it. I of course can tell you what it's about and what I'm not happy about in terms of my performance and choreography, but I'll spare you the details. DON'T READ TILL AFTER YOU WATCH!!! So the piece is basically about loss. At the beginning it was about death, and the five stage of grieving, so I look at those and just played in the studio coming up with moves that I liked. As the piece went on, I kinda broadened the scope, to just loss in general, not necessarily death. Let me know if you saw any of this in my piece, or if I've become one of those "modern dance" dancers! :) Tags: Movie |

AMAR SINGH RATHORE Amar Singh Rathore was the heir apparent to the throne of Marwar, who not only was deprived of his right to succession, but was also exiled from the State, whereafter he retired to the Mughal court. His exceptional gallantry on the battle fields impressed the emperor who bestowed upon him the chiefship of Nagaur and elevated him to a very high rank in the nobility. However, he is remembered for upholding his dignity and intrepidity exhibited in full view of the emperor in the Mughal court at Agra, by murdering Salabat Khan, the Paymaster General for the latter's insolent conduct towards Amar Singh. Amar Singh was overpowered and killed, but the saga of his daunting spirit and heroic action survived for long in the ballads of the minstrels. ANTONIO PAOLI -- the greatest OTELLO -- "Esultate" tenor Tenore Robusto ANTONIO PAOLI (1871-1946) sings "Esultate," followed by "Ora e per sempre addio" from Verdi's Otello on an early G & T 78 rpm disc # 025172. Paoli, who was a giant of a man, had one of the MOST POWERFUL voices of any tenor---EVER! Known as "The King of Tenors," he is considered the first Puerto Rican to reach international fame in the musical arts. Antonio Paoli was born in Puerto Rico. After the death of his parents at age 12, he went to live with his sister in Spain, herself an established opera singer. Sister Amalia Paoli arranged for him to study voice, whereafter he made his major debut in 1899 at the Paris Opéra, as Arnold in Guillaume Tell. In 1902-1903 he belonged to an opera troupe assembled by Mascagni that toured the USA and Canada. He frequently toured South America and in 1920 spent a season in Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia. He had reat successes through Italy, South America, and the United States. He eventually returned to Puerto Rico to teach. He received an honorary pension from his native Puerto Rico. Antonio Paoli died of cancer in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on August 24, 1946, and was buried in the Puerto Rico Memorial Cementery of Isla Verde. On April 13, 2005 the remains of Paoli and those of his wife Adina Bonimi (who had died in 1978) were transferred to Ponce and buried in the National Pantheon in Ponce by the base of HIS STATUE. His only recordings were for G&T (HMV, Italian Victor) in Milan. Tags: gmmix Verdi Otello Paoli Puerto Rican exultate esultate |

Heat equation, take 2 I've further implemented code to manage different electron-beam events. Now you can give it beam parameters at different times; electron-beam energy and electron number is converted to heat inside the slab at specific geometrical coordinates with different electron density distributions. In this example, the electrons penetrate the slab in a cylinder distribution form with uniform density from the slab surface (z=0) until z=zmax/2=16/2=8 units. 1E22 electrons are converted to heat each second (ns actually) in that cylindrical space between t=10 and t=100, whereafter you can see it even out by diffusion. Blackbody radiation is there but the time is much shorter than the last example and here the initial temperature of the slab is close to the ambient temperature, so BB effects are not noticable. Lastly, Temperature Strength is now an average over z-axis. Update: code now available - http://www.geocities.com/wombofwoe/ Tags: heat diffusion equation 3D physics matlab |

TNT Ella-Mugen #1: Dio/Sakura Somewhere in a quiet village in Colorado, there lived a six year old girl. She was tormented by her parents in that miserable home of hers, for she was what they call an "accident". Her name was Ella. One day, Ella sat on a half-torn sofa when her father, Dio Brando, passed through with a bag filled with firearms. He was planning a robbery with Ella's mother, Sakura. "What's that?" she asked, whereafter Dio hissed it's none of her business. Then he tripped over one of Ella's toy trains and dropped the bag, causing one of the guns to go off. Infuriated, Dio grabbed a chair and threw it at the child, then rushed out to continue his plan. That should have been a fatal blow to Ella, but just she was about to die (or just after? Who knows), a dark force emnated from Ella's body, shattering the chair and everything else in the room. She was changing. Her ability to think was changing. Consumed by both hatred and fear, Ella rushed forth to catch up with her parents and massacre them. ---------------- Gee wizz, I decided to join in the fad, complete with elaborate intro and Movie Maker effects. The first match consists of two rounds, one against Sakura and one against Dio (whose download link I will dig up if it's highly requested). It's like a team battle, except Ella has max health for each round. Sakura is just awesome. Kick-ass AI, animation, supers, whatever. My only complaint is that Hadouken that forms an almost flawless keep-away barrier. It needs more lag time. Dio wasn't a challange, considering he has no AI. Still, it was an awesome match overall. The stage is from either Mugenfury, Mugenation or Randomselect (sorry). The music is Rayman 2 - Rocketrun, and if you don't like it, you can take your whiny snivveling, snotnose population, form a line behind me and kiss my...wait...can't say that on YouTube... Hurricane Dean - 2007 Hurricane Dean was a powerful tropical cyclone of the 2007 Atlantic hurricane season. It was the most intense Atlantic hurricane since Hurricane Wilma of 2005, and tied for seventh most intense Atlantic hurricane ever recorded as well as the third most intense Atlantic hurricane ever at landfall. A Cape Verde-type hurricane, Dean took a west-northwest path through the Caribbean Sea, passing just to the south of Jamaica on August 20, making landfall in the Yucatán on August 21, and a second landfall near Tecolutla, Mexico, on August 22 after crossing the Bay of Campeche. At least 42 deaths have been reported and insured damage is estimated at about $6.6 billion (USD). Dean was the first hurricane to make landfall in the Atlantic basin at Category 5 intensity in 15 years; the last storm to do so was Hurricane Andrew on August 24, 1992. Although Dean was much larger than Andrew, its Category 5 landfall was in a more sparsely populated area and thus far less damaging. -- Storm History -- On August 11, 2007, a tropical wave moved off the west coast of Africa, and, encountering favorable conditions, quickly developed into Tropical Depression Four about 520 miles (835 km) west-southwest of Cape Verde. The depression moved briskly westward, and was upgraded to Tropical Storm Dean at 1500 UTC on August 14. The storm's intensity continued to build although dry air and cooler air inflow from the north were slowing structural development. Ragged bands formed on August 15 and the formation of a partial eyewall was observed later that day. Intensification continued and the storm was upgraded to Hurricane Dean at 5 a.m. EDT (0900 UTC) August 16. The deep-layered ridge to the north continued to steer the system west, towards the Caribbean Sea. The storm quickly strengthened to a Category 2 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale. The storm's development slowed slightly but a reconnaissance aircraft discovered a closed eyewall on August 17 as the storm passed through the Lesser Antilles. Data from the aircraft indicated that Hurricane Dean had strengthened to a Category 3 hurricane and its trailing bands were still over the Lesser Antilles. During the evening of August 17 Dean strengthened into a Category 4 hurricane and continued to steadily grow in both size and intensifying through the night. On August 18 the presence of a double eyewall was noted, indicating an eyewall replacement cycle and causing short term fluctuations in intensity. These fluctuations did not affect the storm's well defined satellite presentation. Operationally, Dean was thought to have only been a Category 4 on the 18th, but post-storm analysis shows that Dean had become a 165 mph (266 km/h) Category 5 that day before weakening. Dean weakened very slightly on morning of August 19 as it finished the eyewall replacement cycle and began to interact with the island of Jamaica Hurricane Dean passed south of Jamaica on the evening of August 19 and began to intensify again that night. Its eyewall replacement cycle was thought to be completed. A concentric eyewall was briefly observed again on the morning of August 20, but did not last long. The hurricane, still tracking west-northwest under the influence of a strengthening deep-layered high pressure system to the north, moved over waters with extremely high heat content and began to strengthen once again. The eyewall became even better defined throughout the day, and, at 8:35 p.m. AST on August 20 (0035 August 21, UTC), Dean restrengthened to a Category 5 hurricane, the highest rating on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale. It made landfall as a Category 5 storm in Quintana Roo's Costa Maya region, some 65 km (40 mi) northeast of the border between Mexico and Belize, and weakened on its way over land, reemerging on the western side of Yucatán as a Category 1 storm. Dean regained strength as it crossed the Gulf of Mexico, and made its second landfall as a Category 2 storm on 22 August, at around 11:30 CDT, near Tecolutla, Veracruz, to the south of Tuxpan, whereafter it moved westward, losing strength and mostly disintegrating over central Mexico. A small remnant circulation did enter the far east Pacific, eventually moving northwestward around an anticyclone, roughly parallel to the Mexican coast and finally back inland over the southwestern United States, where it completely dissipated on 27 August.
