Martial Arts Competition Winners ZHANG: And in New York, NTD's International Chinese Traditional Martial Arts Competition drew to a successful close Sunday night. Let's take a look at who took home the awards. STORY: After two days of intense competition, the winners in the first ever International Chinese Traditional Martial Arts Competition emerged victorious. Zhang Wuna from the U.S. city of Seattle won the first prize for male internal style with his Wudang Tai Chi. Zhou Hongliang from the Chau Ka Chinese Martial Arts Association in Hong Kong, received the 2nd prize for his Wudang Xuanwu Quan. Ding Jianping from Canada won 3rd place for his Chen Style Tai Chi Quan. And Guan Jingshun received the Outstanding Award for his Court Ba Gua Zhang. Huang Liling from Taiwan, took away the female internal style champion with her Chen style Tai Chi . Huang Xuefen from Canada won the 2nd place for her Chen style Tai Chi Quan. Liu Yuzhen from Singapore received the 3rd prize with her Yang style Tai Chi Quan, and Lin Huang Li Zhu got the outstanding award. There weren't any first place winners for the male and female Long Fist competitions, but the 2nd prize was shared by Hu Jinlong and Li Xinxin. Zhang Xiaobin received the 3rd prize for male Long Fist. Liu Shangpeng, Joshua Heath and He Pei, won the outstanding awards for male and female Long Fist, respectively. The male champion of the Southern Style Quan was taken by Li Chaosheng from the U.S. Zhao Yun got the female Southern Style champion. Li Peiyun won the champion of the male internal style weapon, Lu Meihui is the champion of the female internal style weapon with her Wudang Sword. ZHANG: NTD's next event is the Global Han Couture Design Competition—a fashion competition which aims to show contemporary clothing inspired by traditional Chinese dress. Gains that are largely thanks to Tutsi support from Rwanda and Uganda. Meanwhile, in an extension of Rwanda's genocidal war, Kabila has been recruiting thousands of Hutus. Exiled here after the 1994 genocide, these refugees are a vicious fighting force. For them it's a case of unfinished business. On the ground the UN and Amnesty confirm the murder of thousands of ethnic Tutsis. Lifting the tarpaulin off mass graves the evidence is only too plain to see. Zimbabwe, Angola, Namibia and Chad have all been supporting Kabila's forces despite his unpopularity at home. It's a matter of protecting their own interests. The rebels though have also failed to win the hearts and minds of civilians. "We are tired, we have had enough. We do not need a Kabila yesterday, today the rebels and tomorrow somebody else. We have no peace. We cannot develop" With neighbouring nations openly sponsoring rival factions peace seems a distant hope.
