Medical Marijuana/ Cannabis helps my Chronic Pain while I am Fighting WorkSafe B.C aka. WCB Medical cannabis and the Green Cross Society of B.C helped me with my long recovery from a 28 foot fall at work. Medical marijuana saved me from a life on pharmaceutical drugs.. Pain was a hard to deal with; doctors put me on what I would like to call the "special" when dealing with severe trauma 1. Pain killers, narcotics- oxycontin, morphine, percacets, Tylenol 3... 2. Anti depressants- Apo-Amitriptyline, Effexor, Venlafaxine, ceperlex, etc... 3. Anxiety pills-Ativan, Xanax, Lexapro, Valium etc.. 4. Nerve Blockers- Gabapentin, Lyrica etc... 5. Muscle relaxers -- novo-cyclobenzaprine, methocarbamol etc... 6. Sleeping Pills -- Immovane, 7. Blood pressure & ant-acid pills -- pariet and antihypertensives This is how our medical system deals with seriously injured workers. I was taking heavy prescription drugs, narcotics for pain, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers , anti-depressants and heart pills .At one point of my recovery, I was taking 32 pills a day to deal with all my issues. Medications caused a lot of confusion and disarray in my life, While on the cocktail of prescription drugs I found that I was always chasing pain, forgetting almost everything, not being able to make decisions properly, emotionally I was a mess always crying and hating life. All my doctors 35-40 in total were trying to find a cure or some miracle to help me get on with my life. Work Safe B.C stated it was my recovery but insisted that I take a wide range of prescription drugs so I could go back to work. Pharmaceutical drugs contributed to a lot of problems from side effects that were not related to my injuries and made them worse, at times made them better. Life was a roller coaster ride up and down sudden unanticipated stops and screaming pain! Medical cannabis - Endocannabinoid Physiological Control System (EPCS) cannabinoids, CB1 receptors, CB2 receptors, anandamide. When injuries accrue, dealing with the central nerves system (CNS) and the peripheral nerves system (PNS) become a major factor in recovery. Learning how our body works and how natural remedies have worked for thousands of years, natural herbs, amino acids(food), exercise and a understanding of how our body and mind relays massages to our body is a key factor in my recovery and quality of life. I have spent the past 2 years learning from the Green Cross Society and their scientists such as Dr Paul Hornby. I have learnt how to properly understand the human bodies own natural pain killer. I have found if cannabis is properly administrated it helps activate levels of dopamine, serotonin and GABA which allows me get on with daily life. I will go into detail soon on how and what I had to learn to deal with chronic pain and depression, the road to my extensive recovery and how today I am free from pharmaceutical drugs and happy to be more in control of my pain levels. I hope I will be able to help others understand how to deal with Chronic Pain, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Naturopathic pain. Being able to have some relief and feeling generally good is something we all want in our days. Medical Cannabis helps me get through my days. Peace Dragon 420 Chronic pains and cannabinoid receptors in the central and peripheral nervous system. I have been dealing with CB1 and CB2 receptors and GABA and other amino acids. Cannabinoids effectively help suppress my pain levels. 1. 50 ml THC-5 ml CBD (converted) 2. GABA 500 mg 3. L- Tyrosine 500 mg 4. L-Tryptophan 550 mg 5. DL- Phenylalanine 500mg 6. Doctors Choice 81 Neurological Support 7. Sam-e 40 drops a day 8. Tincture -10 mg THC/drop-2 mg CBD/drop Break through Pain 15-25 drops (as needed) relief from intense pain in seconds (converted) 9. 10 to 15 grams a day of medical cannabis (THC,CBD,CBN all recorded) 10. On an average I take about 700ml-1000ml of THC to 150 ml-200 CBD a day. In the morning this is what I take to help me get up and with in hour's time I am feeling at ease. Fighting WorkSafe B.C after a 28ft fall... My name is John B and I had fallen 28 feet to concrete June 23rd 2005 I was a Glassier I tripped and fell 6-8 feet hit head on second floor knocking my self out, falling an additional 20 feet, landed on left side of my body ? In December of 2007 WorkSafe cuts me of wage loss befits, vocational rehab befits start I am advised that I can not return to my old job so grab a newspaper and find a job. In 2001, BC Liberal Gordon Campbell declared that he was going to "clean house" at the WCB. True to his word, Campbell's government rewrote the WCB Act through Bills 49 and 63. Surrounded by controversy, those changes have had devastating effects on injured workers throughout BC. Featuring a decreased calculation of basic wage loss entitlement, the WCB Act was revamped from top to bottom. In 2003, the Workers' Compensation Board was rechristened as Work Safe BC. Along with other controversial changes, pensions for loss of earnings have become rare. If the Work Safe BC recognizes a permanent functional impairment, a disabled worker may qualify for a functional impairment pension or lump sum payment. The claim 05173881 had become a major liability to Work Safe B.C and certain measures were taken to ensure the I would go back to work. January 4th 2007 18 months later, Work Safe B.C cuts me of all befits because I could not do an active job search 8 hours a day, there were 3 injuries accepted at that time 1 denied. I protested at my house 3321 knight st and it was torn down in July 2007 . I was forced on to social assistance (welfare) I lived in his truck until Oct 14th 2007. October 24 2007 Work Safe B.C for some reason starts to pay me again they old me planning befits were introduce. Our Government is allowing this to happen to injured workers; they changed the laws & policies. 19 seriously injured workers commit suicide in the past 3 years while Work Safe B.C turns a blind eye. Work Safe B.C job is to deny 80% of seriously injured workers claim. I was told that I was in the top 20% of claims that will probably be accepted. I filed 5 reviews on my claim status in February 2007 regarding additional permanent disabilities in addition to those identified in December 7th 2006 and loosed all review decisions by July 31 2007. August 14th 2007 papers are filed at WCAT to appeal the review board decision; court is set for February 18th 2008 On January 2nd 2008 6 more PFI disabilities are added to my claim status. Left Ankle, 2 Brain Disorders, Chronic Pain x2, Left Knee. I am still complaining about lower back, left hand, ears ringing and extreme headaches since time of injury. So I fell 28 feet and basically broke the left side of my body but only half the injuries I have are related to the fall says Work Safe B.C. Doctors have all injuries on file , X rays show damage in all areas, documentation of injuries that are Denied are related to the work place injury so why do I have to fight for my LIFE again? I have to now prove with out a doubt that the injuries listed are all related to the fall. Work Safe B.C hates public relations; they do not want the public to see how they treat seriously injured workers.
