Michael Phelps at the Magic Kingdom 2008 Olympic champion and swimming star Michael Phelps visited the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World today, August 29, 2008. He rode down a balloon-adorned Main Street USA in grand fashion, with guests waving American flags as red, white, and blue confetti flew into the skies. This was his first public appearance in the United States since the Beijing Olympics. Halloween Horror Nights 2008 Bloody Mary The theme of this year's Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Orlando is Bloody Mary. They're also promising eight new haunted houses, six scare zones and three live shows. The two of the three lives shows will be new productions of Bill and Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure and Rocky Horror Picture Show - A Tribute. The third live show is that of "shocking magician" Brian Brushwood. Pleasure Island Clubs Closing at Walt Disney World Walt Disney World Resort unveiled a new vision for Downtown Disney, with new shopping, dining and other experiences including a completely re-imagined Pleasure Island. Also planned are numerous enhancements to popular Downtown Disney locations, as well as additional theming and storytelling by Imagineers. Prince Caspian Attraction Grand Opening at Hollywood Studios An attraction based on the second film in The Chronicles of Narnia series, Prince Caspian, officially opened on June 26, 2008 at Disney's Hollywood Studios. In attendance at the opening were Prince Caspian, who rode in on horseback, Warwick Davis, who plays Nikabrik in the film, and Dave Hoffman, Walt Disney Imagineer and Art Director for Disney's Hollywood Studios. After a short introduction, guests find themselves within Aslan's How, a chamber that plays a prominent role in the film. The attraction is targeted toward fans of the Narnia series who already know the story of Prince Caspian. A full plot summary is delivered via movie clips, touching on most of the major twists and turns in the film. If you haven't yet seen the film or read the book, this attraction may spoil it for you (just as many other Disney movie-based attractions could for their respective films).
