Sayers closes its doors in Crosby SAYERS employees expressed their shock and sadness at the sudden closure of the firm's Waterloo shop on Monday. The bakery's St John's Road branch was one of 40 "poor performing" Sayers and Hampsons shops which were closed, along with Sayers Liverpool head office, following a management buyout of the company. Drugs and counterfeit goods raid DRUGS and counterfeit goods were seized at homes in the Klondyke area of Litherland and Bootle. During a day of raids across the area, police discovered what is believed to be a quantity of cannabis. A man was arrestedon suspicion of intent to supply a Class C drug. Sefton Triathlon 2008 LIVERPOOL legend Kenny Dalglish gave his seal of approval to the 1,100 children and adults who took part in Saturday's Formby Cycles Sefton Triathlon. More than £30,000 was raised for various charities by the event this year, with participants flying in from afar afield as America and Australia to tackle the 150m swim, 5k bike ride and 2.5k run along the coastline near Crosby Leisure Centre.
