Cass and Frankie 1989--Why Is Cass Seeing Caroline? Cass asks Frankie if she has a problem with him seeing Caroline. Frankie says no, then reminds Cass that Caroline was at Lucas's apartment, and informs him that Caroline was at the apartment a second time, after Cass left Frankie's. Frankie thinks that Caroline and Lucas have something personal going on. Cass is going to find out if what Caroline and Lucas are doing is on the up-and-up, and when Frankie asks if Cass seeing Caroline is part of the investigation, Cass replies, "Among other things," bids Frankie good night, and leaves. Frankie then throws the entire deck of tarot cards into the air over her head. Tags: Another World aw cass winthrop frankie frame stephen schnetzer alice barrett mitchell |

Cass and Frankie 1989--Watching Lucas, Reading Tarot Cards The awkward silence that follows Cass catching Frankie so she doesn't fall over the microphone devolves into an argument until Frankie notices movement at Lucas's apartment. Then our intrepid duo man their stations at the window, Frankie with the microphone and tape recorder and Cass with the binoculars, to watch Lucas. But it turns out Lucas is only reading a book...silently, at that. After calling it a night on the Lucas watch, Cass finds a deck of tarot cards, which thrills Frankie. She talks him into picking two cards, but his response to the second card is not quite what Frankie had in mind. Cass and Frankie 1989--First Gift, Great Catch Frankie is setting up a directional, parabolic microphone when Cass returns. He apologizes for being cranky, saying it's been one of those days, and then gives Frankie a housewarming present--the first gift he ever gives her. It's a tree of crystals. Frankie then shows Cass the microphone and tells him they'll be able to pick up everything that is said in Lucas's apartment like there was a bug in the apartment, which, for what she paid for it...Whose money paid for the microphone, Cass wants to know? Frankie tells Cass he can write it off on his taxes, then trips over the microphone. But Cass quickly moves forward and makes a great catch, keeping Frankie from falling on the floor...and causing the two of them to stare into each other's eyes quite intently. Frankie and Cass 1989--I Believe in Fate Frankie is at the window with the binoculars watching Lucas across the way in his own apartment, and Cass is still complaining about the apartment...until Frankie tells him to be quiet for the resting spirits. When Cass asks her if she really buys that stuff, Frankie replies that she believes in fate, and if you are a seer and can see what is destined, then yes, she buys that. Cass has no response to that, and Frankie teases him about not having zinged her for 15 whole seconds; is he losing his touch? When Cass says he was thinking of something Rachel Cory said to him, Frankie says there's a perfect example of fate. From what everyone has told her, Mac and Rachel Cory kept coming back to each other. "You see, when two people are supposed to be together, there's nothing that can keep them apart." Cass and Frankie look at each other after this for a moment. Then the stakeout takes a turn when Frankie sees Caroline Stafford in Lucas's apartment, and Cass then rips the binoculars away from Frankie to spy on Caroline and Lucas. When Frankie questions Cass about his relationship with Caroline, he tells Frankie that's none of her business, but Frankie retorts that it may be very much her business. Cass and Frankie 1989--A Simple Idea, Very Basic Cass's attempted interrogation of Stacey about her relationship with Derek is interrupted when Frankie arrives at the law office with the news that Lucas, who she is now working for, gave her the morning off, and that he asked Frankie to be his alibi for last night. If Iris called and asked where Lucas was last night, Frankie was to tell Iris that they were working late. Cass and Stacey are both encouraged by this, even though Frankie reminds them she doesn't have anything yet. Stacey tells Frankie she's doing a terrific job and to keep up the good work, then leaves for an appointment with Jamie. When Cass emphasizes that "we"--meaning him and Frankie--will step up the surveillance on Lucas, Frankie is glad to hear that. Cass notices Frankie has the look in her eye that always makes him nervous, but Frankie says she has a simple idea, very basic, and asks Cass if there's enough money in petty cash for a security deposit on an apartment for her. Cass asks Frankie if she's crazy. Frankie counters by asking Cass what he says to the idea. Cass & Frankie--The Right Woman and the Right Occasion Dean's friends tell Frankie to tell Dean they'll be back later to move the rest of his stuff. Frankie says, "Sure thing." Cass tells them there's no hurry. After the movers are gone, Cass asks Frankie how their home turned into Electronics Central. Frankie tells Cass he doesn't want to know. Cass tells Frankie that for his birthday, he'd like to be able to walk across his living-room floor without getting zatzed by 10,000 volts of electricity. Frankie says that's not too much to ask, and by this time tomorrow Cass shall have his wish. Then Frankie asks if there's anything else, because the Birthday Genie is taking requests. After asking if the request can be anything, and receiving an affirmative answer, Cass tells Frankie he'd like them to set a date for their wedding. Can that be arranged? Frankie replies that she thinks that's a definite possibility, yeah, and leans down to kiss Cass. As he moves from her lips to her cheek, she kisses his cheek, then tells him she has an even better surprise for him. Cass wants her to tell him because she knows he hates to wait, but Frankie says she won't tell him until tomorrow. Cass then says that since they have all of this stuff here, there's something he's always wanted to do, ever since he saw this movie. He gets up and puts a CD in Dean's stereo as Frankie asks what movie? Cass tells Frankie she'll recognize the tune, and that he's been waiting for the right woman to come along, and the right occasion. Cass starts the CD, then vaults over the table the stereo equipment is standing on as Frankie stretches her arms above her head on the floor with a laugh. Cass drops to the floor himself, and he and Frankie resume their makeout session. Thanks to Janie for the scenes. Cass and Frankie Get Interrupted by Dean's Friends Cass is following Frankie around the living room, kissing the nape of her neck, as she tries to clean up the papers and says that she wanted to have everything perfect for his birthday--candles lit and incense burning and a wonderful meal in the oven, and he comes home a day early. She stops long enough to kiss his lips, then goes back into nonstop ramble mode, saying there's so much to do around the house, and then she asks Cass if he heard about Ryan, who was acquitted in Rick Madison's death. Cass says yes, he heard it on the car radio on the way home from the airport. "Now that everybody else is where they should be," Cass says, framing Frankie's face in his hands, "don't you think we should do the same? How about the bedroom? How does that sound?" He kisses her again. "Who needs a bedroom?" Frankie asks between kisses. Cass grins. "Oh, I love an unconventional gal," he says. Frankie returns his grin, and they start kissing again and sink to the floor in each other's arms, Frankie lying on top of Cass... ...at which point two of Dean's friends show up to pick up his speakers and step right over Cass and Frankie on the floor! One of them even asks Frankie, "How's it goin'?" She and Cass stop kissing, sit up slightly, look at the guys, and then look at each other. Thanks to Janie for the scenes. Dean and Jenna on Their Rooftop Dean and Jenna go up to their rooftop, and while they're there, they talk. Jenna asks Dean to promise her that he'll tell her everything no matter what, because she wants them to be totally honest with each other. When Dean asks if that's ever been a problem, Jenna asks where the synthesizer that Marah gave him is. Jenna correctly guesses that Dean hocked the synthesizer to pay for the expenses for the outdoor concert. She says if he'd told her, they could have exchanged her engagement ring. Dean says no way, that ring stays on Jenna's finger for the rest of her life. And he doesn't need the big synthesizer to survive. Dean tells Jenna that Frankie's going to get him a job as a process server in a couple of months, and then everything will be fine. Jenna replies that it's not gonna take a couple of months. After this concert, Dean will have the whole city right back at his feet, just like he does now. Then they kiss. Thanks to Janie for the scenes. Frankie Welcomes Cass Home--Dean and Jenna Leave In order to get everyone's attention, but mainly Frankie's, Cass pulls the plug on all of Dean's music equipment. When Frankie sees Cass, she goes running to him and gives him a big hug, which he returns. Cass asks about all of Dean's equipment being in the living room, and Dean makes the same promise to Cass that he made to Frankie: that all of the equipment will be out of the living room in a couple of hours. Cass asks what happened to D&M. Dean says he quit D&M, and Jenna says that's for the best because now Dean can concentrate on his music and Roger Jackson can get Sam to write jingles about garbage bags if he wants to. Cass asks if he's understanding this right, and Frankie says she'll explain it to him later, but for now just smile, and then kiss her. Cass says he knew he forgot something, and he and Frankie indulge in some long welcome-home kisses. Dean and Jenna welcome Cass back, but he and Frankie are too busy making out to acknowledge the younger couple beyond Frankie waving them away with her hand as she and Cass sink down on the couch, wrapped in each other's arms, kissing all the while. Dean and Jenna decide to leave. Dean will call a couple of his friends to move the equipment, and Jenna will take care of the electrician. Jenna asks Dean if his synthesizer is in the basement, and he says yeah, it's all packed up. Dean and Jenna leave as Cass and Frankie continue kissing. Thanks to Janie for the scenes! Frankie, Cass, Dean & Jenna--Day Before Cass's Birthday 1992 Chaos reigns at Cass and Frankie's house, as Dean, who has quit D&M, has set up his music equipment in the living room and is blasting it, and Frankie is on the phone when Jenna arrives. After ending her call, Frankie tells Dean to turn the music down, and reminds him that Cass's birthday is tomorrow and she's having a party for Cass, so all of Dean's stuff has to be out of the living room before the party. Dean tells Frankie he'll put everything in the basement in a couple of hours. The phone rings again and Jenna answers this time, then tells them that was the mayor's office: there's no way they're going to allow Dean to give a concert in a public parking lot. This angers Dean. Jenna says it's because of the lack of liability insurance--D&M didn't pay for that at Dean's last concert, Ace did. Jenna assures Dean they can still do it, it'll just take a little time. Frustrated, Dean says they're not trying to set up Woodstock here and he doesn't understand what the big deal is. Frankie answers the ringing phone in the meantime, then reports that Dean's P.A. isn't up to city code. She offers to call her friends downtown. Cass walks in then, home a day early from his business trip, to find Dean and all of his equipment in the living room, music blasting, and Frankie and Jenna both yelling into separate phone lines. Frankie and Ryan--Frankie's Worried About Ryan Frankie can't believe all of the stuff Ryan has bought. He used to give himself $5 a day allowance for lunch. Ryan says someday maybe Frankie will be fortunate enough to be able to spend large amounts of money wantonly and with great relish like he's doing now. Frankie tells Ryan that he's not fooling her, and she knows he's not enjoying this. Ryan insists he is enjoying it because he's a Harrison, and Harrisons are selfish, self-indulgent, stuffed shirts. Then he asks Frankie if she wants to help him put the fax machine in his car. When he models a new jacket for Frankie, she tells him to stop the fashion show already because she doesn't like what the new clothes mean: approach avoidance. They then discuss Kevin leaving town. Frankie tells Ryan that Kevin's office knows how to reach him, and that she is doing everything she can to find a link between Lucas's and Rick's deaths because the sooner they do that, the sooner Ryan can get free and clear and get himself a life. Ryan says he has a nice life, thank you very much, and Frankie tells Ryan it's time he got over himself. She hates seeing him stuff down his emotions about everything. Ryan insists that shopping is his new release and asks Frankie if she's really angry with him. She says no, but she is worried. When Ryan says he's taking care of himself, Frankie says she wishes she could believe that. Frankie has to leave for a meeting with Kelsey, which surprises Ryan. Frankie tells Ryan about Kelsey's plan to write an article about discrimination against medicine in women, starting in her own backyard. Ryan thinks that Kelsey is going to name Jamie in her paper because he gave the assistantship to Daryl Beckett instead of her, but Frankie says that's not it all, because Kelsey is involved with Jamie and trusts him. Frankie & Kelsey--Sexual Discrimination in the Workplace Dr. O'Neill gives Kelsey a hard time about her relationship with Jamie, and implies that Jamie didn't choose her for the mentor program because if he had, they wouldn't be able to spend their weekends together; if Jamie had chosen Kelsey, Kelsey would be on duty every weekend covering for him. Kelsey tells him off, and then Frankie arrives and tells O'Neill it's time to leave, so he does. After he's gone, Kelsey tells Frankie she hates O'Neill. "Who wouldn't?" Frankie says. Kelsey says she doesn't know why she's still surprised, because this is status quo in the medical community. Frankie tells Kelsey about O'Neill hitting on her earlier, and is horrified that O'Neill is considered a catch. Frankie and Kelsey then discuss sexual discrimination in the workplace. Kelsey says the women MDs are completely outnumbered at Bay City General. Frankie says it took her forever to find her OB/GYN. Kelsey replies that there's only one female department head at Bay City General--hematology--and that's the department that hired her, and it's difficult for a woman to break into a field like cardiology or internal medicine, plus there are some patients who refuse treatment from female residents. When Kelsey says she'd love to write an article and shame these guys into submission, Frankie asks her why she doesn't. Kelsey wouldn't know where to start. Frankie tells her there are at least six different computer files that can give Kelsey a database and starts listing them. Frankie has investigated discrimination cases before, and knows what it's like to have a man threatened by your intelligence. It's part of what makes her such a good P.I. She offers to take a look at the files and get Kelsey the stats. Kelsey is surprised that the files are a matter of public record, and tells Frankie she'll think about it, and she's really glad they ran into each other. Frankie says she is too. Then Jamie comes in and tells Frankie that Kelsey has to go off duty right now. Kelsey tells Frankie to have a great weekend, and Frankie tells Kelsey to do the same, and then Jamie and Kelsey leave together. Thanks to Janie for the scenes. Frankie and Jamie Talk at the Hospital Frankie and Jamie catch up on each other's lives and news at the hospital. Jamie opens up to Frankie about his relationship with Kelsey and his feelings of helplessness about Lucas's death. Frankie tells Jamie that Felicia is having a difficult time accepting that Lucas is gone (which Jamie had heard from Rachel) and encourages him to visit Felicia, and that Cass is doing everything he can to help Felicia. She then tells him about her doctor's appointment to find out if she can have children because she and Cass want to have a family, and that she and Cass are planning their wedding again. Jamie tells Frankie to tell Cass this time it better stick. Frankie assures Jamie that it will, because she and Cass are ready. The conversation turns back to Kelsey, and Frankie gives Jamie something to think about when she points out that Kelsey's career is very important to her, and nothing, not even her mother's reaction to her not being chosen for the mentor program, could hurt Kelsey more than actually losing the mentor program. Frankie bids Jamie goodbye as she goes to see if she can finally see Dr. Petrie (her obstetrician), and Jamie is left in the cafeteria alone, thinking over what Frankie said. Captain Cooper Questions Jake About Kevin Billy Cooper arrives at Jake and Paulina's to question Jake about Kevin. When Jake resists talking to Billy, Billy shows Jake his badge and says they can make this an official visit down at the station instead of an unofficial chat at the house. Billy says that Jake's been making some strong accusations about Kevin Anderson, and slander is a crime. Jake retorts that slander isn't slander if what you say is true, and Kevin is counting on the department sticking by him. Billy says that Kevin has done a lot for this town, and Billy won't let Kevin be taken down by a brother with a chip on his shoulder, but if Kevin is guilty, though that's a big if in Billy's book, then Jake will get all the credit for turning Kevin in and be a hero for the first time in his life. Jake shares his theory with Billy, which he has already shared with Ryan, and points out that Kevin lied about where he was the night Lucas was shot; he was never in night court, but he added his name to the roster after the fact when he wasn't even there, and Kevin sees Sally as the other woman in Lucas's life, just like Kevin's mother was with Jake's father. Billy tells Jake to keep his theories to himself until Billy has proof. Jake tells Billy that Billy will get his proof. After Billy leaves, Jake picks up a framed photograph of Paulina and looks at it. Thanks to Janie for the scenes. Tags: Another World aw jake mckinnon billy cooper tom eplin ruben santiago-hudson |

Jake and Paulina--The Truth's Gotta Come Out Jake asks Paulina if okay. She says no, she isn't, and tells Jake that he and Kevin are both out of control. Jake insists that Kevin will hurt anyone who gets in his way, including Paulina. Paulina replies that anyone can be pushed past their limit, and she thinks Jake has just reached that point with his brother. Jake says Kevin is not his brother and has never been his brother. Paulina retorts that Kevin is his family. Jake reminds her that all they know about Kevin is what Kevin has told them, and that isn't much. Paulina doesn't know what to think. Jake says he doesn't, either, which is why he asked Ryan to check Kevin out. If Kevin is responsible for Lucas's death, or Rita's, or even Rick Madison's, doesn't Paulina think enough people have been hurt by Kevin? Paulina asks Jake, "What if you're wrong?" Jake says he's not wrong, and asks Paulina if she knew someone was responsible for three deaths, could she just let it go? Paulina doesn't know what she could do. Jake says he does agree with one thing Kevin said: the truth's gotta come out, and maybe it's time for that. Paulina asks what Jake means by that, and he says they'll talk about it later. Paulina has to get to the studio anyway. Jake says if he's right about Kevin, anything he has done would be nothing in comparison to this. Thanks to Janie for the scenes. Jake and Kevin--An Argument About Misdeeds Jake and Kevin argue bitterly at Jake and Paulina's house. Kevin knows that Jake has pointed the finger at him as a suspect in Lucas's murder. Kevin throws his own suspicions that Jake is the one who made the videotape of Jamie and Kelsey in Jake's face, and tells him if he did make that tape, Paulina will leave him so fast, his head will spin. Jake wants to leave Paulina out of the conversation, but Kevin won't do that. Kevin says he doesn't lie over and over to cover his tracks like Jake. Jake retorts that Kevin has his legal connections do that for him, and that Kevin has nothing on him. Kevin says Jake won't weasel his way out of this one by setting Kevin up. Kevin reminds Jake that when the tape surfaced, he came to Jake privately to talk about it. He didn't spread rumors around, trying to ruin Jake's credibility. Jake sarcastically says he's choked up by Kevin's nobility. When Jake insists that Paulina believes in him and he won't lose her, Kevin says Jake will lose Paulina, the best thing that ever happened to Jake, and goes slamming out of the house. Paulina comes downstairs after Kevin has left, and she and Jake just look at each other. Thanks to Janie for the scenes. Frankie Asks Kelsey to Interpret Frankie's Medical Records In the hospital cafeteria, Frankie rejects the advances of Dr. Brandon O'Neill, who has also been hitting on Kelsey Harrison. When Frankie sees Kelsey, and learns that Jamie is in a meeting and it's John's day off, Frankie asks Kelsey to translate Frankie's test results from medicalese for her. Frankie explains that she had a miscarriage last year, and she and Cass are talking about getting remarried and they both want a family, and Frankie wants to know if she can have a baby. She didn't even tell Cass she was having these tests done. Kelsey looks at the results and tells Frankie that, off the record, Frankie should have no trouble conceiving a child, but, Kelsey adds, Frankie's obstetrician should really go over the results with her. Frankie thanks Kelsey, because now she can relax, and tells Kelsey that the next time Kelsey needs a P.I., she's got one--on the house. Jamie arrives, and Frankie greets him quickly before going off to find her obstetrician, who's been in delivery since noon, to corroborate Kelsey's summary of the test results. Jamie then asks Kelsey to go away with him. Thanks to Janie for the scenes. Tags: Another World aw frankie frame kelsey harrison alice barrett mitchell kaitlin hopkins jamie russell todd |

Lorna & Lucas--Will You Be My Guardian Angel, Daddy? Lorna visits Lucas's grave and has a heart-to-heart talk with her father, referring to him as "Dad" and "Daddy." She brings him yellow roses, which are the very first flowers he gave to Felicia, and she knows that because of the scrapbook he made for her. She thanks him for the scrapbook, and shows that she's wearing her mercury dime ring, which she never takes off. Then she tells Lucas that Felicia's not doing so well. Lorna and Jenna are trying to do the best they can to help her, but Felicia needs Luke. Lorna just wanted to let Lucas know she's okay and he doesn't have to worry about her. She's even seeing this guy, he's the assistant D.A., and she thinks Lucas would really like him. He treats her well. It's something--first Lorna found her family and then she found this great guy who's decent and caring and seems to only want the best for her. She can't believe it. She also tells Lucas that Kevin promised he would find the person who did this to Lucas, although Kevin's a little worried about Lorna, and thinks that she'll find out terrible things about Lucas in the process. But Lorna assures her father she doesn't care. They both know how unfair it is to be judged by their pasts, and she promises that she won't let anybody do that to Lucas. Then she asks Lucas to hear her out on this one: Lorna always thought that everyone has a guardian angel sitting on their shoulder and making sure everything goes okay and they don't make any major mistakes in life, and she was wondering if it would be okay with Lucas if she thought of him that way. "Will you be my guardian angel, Daddy? And make sure that things go okay?" she asks. Kevin is lurking in the background, and Lorna doesn't notice him there because she's so caught up in her conversation with Lucas. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.
