Classic Game Room reviews COLIN McRAE RALLY for Playstation The ORIGINAL Classic Game Room reviews COLIN McRAE RALLY for the Playstation 1 video game console in the year 2000. That's right, 2000! Back before the world collapsed into the heaping mess of molten disaster that is now. Back in 2K we had hope. Hope that driving games on the PS1 would be awesome, and Colin McRae Rally delivered that hope with power sliding, rally drifting, jump jumping rally car racing action! This was a great racing game back in the day and remains great to this day. Fun driving, cool cars and all around great video gaming. Colin McRae Rally did not upset the original Classic Game Room team. So check it out! This ain't no Gran Turismo 2-tacked on rally racing mode, this is an ENTIRE game devoted to PsOne style rally course race simulation driving! Sadly, Colin McRae died in 2007, 7 years after we recorded this review. Tags: colin mcrae rally game driving video games pc ps1 psone playstation original 2.0 3.0 subary racing tournament review |

Classic Game Room HD - ECHO! for Magnavox Odyssey 2 Classic Game Room HD reviews ECHO for the Magnavox Odyssey 2 video game console, also known as the Philips Videopac G7000. ECHO is a game very similar to the 1980's toy called SIMON. You hit colored, numbered buttons (or the Magnavox keys in this case) in the same pattern as shown to you by the computer. This is an old school puzzle game that is simplistic in nature but still a lot of fun to play. Echo is called a mind bending mental gymnastics competition (ouch!) Simon says what!? ECHO, bitches........ ECHO, bitches! Classic Game Room always brings you the best in classic, retro video gaming reviews. Nobody makes more, nobody has more systems, nobody else keeps their Atari cartridges in the same fridge as the beer (we made that part up though). CGRHD bitches....... CGRHD bitches! It's the ECHO! Classic Game Room HD - Wii SPORTS BOWLING for Nintendo Wii Classic Game Room HD reviews Wii SPORTS BOWLING for the Nintendo Wii. This is the first Wii game review from Classic Game Room! Wii Sports Bowling is the game that comes with the base model Wii Sports Package and is a lot of fun. This game effectively uses the very unique Wii controller for that close to reality feel when you bowl! Bowl a strike, spare of horrible disaster with Wii bowling and your Mii character. Create some interesting and unique Mii's with the Wii software, I made a Mii of me (and the dog) and bowled against Wind Squid-Fu, the legendary fictional rendition of a fictional character. This game can be played with up to four people, even using one standard Wii controller. Compete in intense bowling matches and tournaments as you bowl the ball down the lane. Avoid getting a gutterball, as the footage shows. There are lots of ways to bowl in Wii bowling, you can even put spin on the ball right or left. It's bowling, Classic Game Room style! Classic Game Room HD - BOWLING! for Magnavox Odyssey 2 Classic Game Room HD reviews Bowling for the Magnavox Odyssey 2 video game console. Also known as the Philips Videopac G7000 in Europe and other places, the O2 had some pretty cool games. This isn't one of them. In fact, this could be the worst "bowling" game ever created, if you can even call it bowling. Wii Sports Bowling this is not. Turn on your G-7000 and insert the enormous, handle bespeckled cartridge into the slot with a loud "CaCHunk!@" sound. Turn on the power and be greeted with minutes of entertainment from giant blocks that do little more than move about the screen in an illogical manner. Classic Game Room loves the classics, but even in 1980 or '79 or whatever year this came out this game sucked. It was fun to review though, because in between the awesome games like K.C. Munchkin, Bioshock and Assault Heroes we need to review some duds? How can you know if a game is really good if you can't compare it to a game that is awful beyond words. Well, here's one word - BOWLING! Strike... out! This is the gutter whore of the gutter ball, the rancid hot dog of the bowling alley, the smelly shoes from the rental stand. This is BOWLING! on the Magnavox Odyssey 2 video game system. CGR reviews classic video games and the worst bowling video game ever made, Bowling! (not to be confused with Bowling for the Atari 2600, which was actually pretty good.) Retro reviews like you've never seen them before. Classic Game Room HD - SEGA CD console review, Mega CD! Classic Game Room HD reviews the SEGA CD add-on for the Sega Genesis video game console! Or the Mega CD for those of you with Megadrives. Same thing, different colors and name. The Sega CD was originally released by Sega in 1992, updated with the model 2 in 1994/1995. It plays.. you guessed it, SEGA CD games! The MegaCD is a pretty cool device that attached to your Mega Drive (which is Mega rad) and plays compact discs with awesome video games on them like Android Assault, Silpheed, Robo Aleste and Sewer Shark. CD media is different than cartridges and back in the day this was pretty high technology. Should you buy a Sega CD? Will your MD collection be better off if kept company by a stack of Sega CD games? Well... yes. Classic Game Room goes into great detail to look over the Mega CD and review how it works, functions and operates. CGRHD is the money bomb when it comes to retro gaming reviews. Word up! Classic Game Room HD - ASSAULT HEROES review Part 2 XBLA Part 2 of 2. Classic Game Room HD reviews ASSAULT HEROES for Xbox 360 Live Arcade! Assault Heroes for XBLA is an amazing game that harks back to the days of olde, the years of yesteryear when we played games like IKARI WARRIORS and COMMANDO in the arcades!! An amazingly fun game that reminds us of 1980's action films like Predator and the Running Man, Assault Heroes is a joy to play because of the excellent control scheme for the game. It's just like Robotron 2084 and Smash TV where you control the movement of the heavily armored Micro Machine Death Machine with your left analog stick, and control the direction of fire with the right analog stick. Booya! Mow down lines of bad guys like Princess Vespa in Spaceballs! There's no Force Unleashed in this game, this game is all about powering up your minigun, flamethrower and rocket launcher and blasting hordes of tanks, soldiers, mecha and other various angry and color bad guys. The gameplay is fast and ferocious and you'll see game footage on screen of us plowing our way through forests, seas and futuristic bases. It is a top down perspective game that has terrific co-op gameplay for two players over Xbox Live Arcade XBLA. Assault Heroes is published by Sierra (I LOVE SPACE QUEST BRING IT BACK) and developed by Wanako Studios. The sequel is Assault Heroes 2, we'll do a review of that. It costs a few Microsoft points these days, has achievements that you can earn and also supports HD graphics. Not on PS3 or Atari 7800... yet. Achievement. CGRHD reviews GRAN TURISMO 2 Part 4, High Speed Ring Part 4 of our GT2 review. Classic Game Room HD reviews GRAN TURISMO 2 from Polyphony Digital for the Sony Playstation 1 video game console. Only CGRHD has the audacity to release a "Part 4" 9 years after we released the first review in 1999, but we did it. Take that common sense! GT2 is a classic video game that needs to be revisited. Released in 1999, Gran Turismo 2 set the standard for what an amazing driving video game and racing simulator should be. Hundreds of cars, dozens of tracks, CGRHD takes a spin on the HIGH SPEED RING, which was one of the original courses in th first Gran Turismo 1 released in 1998. It has recently been revamped into an awesome HD track with a bridge for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Check it out here, sans bridge, with chunky mountains in the background and a cheering, pixelated crowd! Driving the Nissan 300ZX-GTR. Remember how awesome the Nissan 300 ZX was? Check the gameplay footage to remember, earn a trophy... a made up one! Revisit and enjoy the ultimate driving game on the PS1, Gran Turismo 2! Somebody tell Polyphony Digital to put Grindelwald into Gran Turismo 5, the full version! We want Grindelwald in GT5! NOW NOW NOW! Gt2 on PSone. Hype! We drive the Suzuka Circuit in Japan with a Ferrari F430 sports car in this amazing driving simulator. Watch the time trial as we go for the gold (so to speak, we don't really get any precious metals in this game) Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is a superb driving game with numerous cars and circuits to drive, intended to keep us busy until the full version of Gran Turismo 5 comes out in 2009. Classic Game Room HD - BIOSHOCK review Part 2 Part 2. Classic Game Room HD reviews the amazing BIOSHOCK. This version of the game is for the Xbox 360. This review should also cover the Playstation 3 PS3 release, so this video should excite everyone about Bioshock by reviewing the game, audio and amazing adventure contained within. PS3, PC or Xbox 360, Bioshock is awesome! Bioshock is a first person shooter style FPS game that sinks your character into an amazing underwater city called Rapture. Who are you, why are you there, what's up with this messed up place and how do I get out?? All things you'll learn in Bioshock. Classic Game Room reviews Bioshock with a close attention to detail because Bioshock has an amazing attention to detail. The music is stunning, the graphics thrust you into a crumbling 1930's era art deco environment and the voice acting is top notch... not to mention the awesome story and incredible gameplay. You wield a variety of weapons like pistols, machine guns, grenade launchers and crossbows in Bioshock, but it is not a standard first person shooter like Halo 3 or Resistance Fall of Man. Bioshock vs those other games is not the same, Bioshock on Xbox or PS3 is an experience wrapped around a FPS (presumably, we haven't played the PS3 version but imagine it to be similar to the 360). Do you want to learn how to defeat and beat Big Daddy's, save the little sisters and bring down Andrew Ryan? This isn't a walkthrough or playalong with Bioshock, this is a review, but shold give you an idea of the gameplay and how to play the game and why you should run out and immediately buy Bioshock. Released in 2007 and available for PS3 in 2008. This is one shooter you don't want to miss. We certainly hope they will make a sequel to Bioshock. CGRHD reviews SEGA GENESIS 6-BUTTON ARCADE STICK joystick Classic Game Room HD reviews the Sega Genesis 6-button Arcade Stick for the Sega Genesis video game console. This is a wonderful arcade joystick for the Sega Megadrive game system and is ideal for fighting games like Street Fighter II that use the six button layout. It has a fabulous arcade style joystick stick with a huge knob (hold your jokes!) perfect for gripping with your hand (watch it!). This joystick fighting controller for the MD is also ideal for games like Samurai Shodown, Twin Cobra and Air Diver. Any game that benefits from that arcade feel will be well paired with the 6-button Arcade Stick from Sega for use with the Sega Mega Drive. It is a hefty controller and a bit larger than the NES Advantage controller for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It has turbo fire (they call it Megafire) and huge, arcade style buttons. Classic Game Room loves this controller. But it today, it's cheap and well worth the money because it is built like a tank and wants a new home. A home where it will be put to the test with Sega Genesis games. Tags: sega genesis arcade joystick button six street fighter II megadrive mega drive md controller special fighting game |

Classic Game Room HD - FORZA 2 review Part 4, Road Atlanta Part 4 - Classic Game Room HD reviews FORZA 2 for the Xbox 360 video game console system. Forza 2 is a complicated and detailed game worthy of a huge multi-part review. CGRHD takes the Porsche 911 GT3 around the Road Atlanta track vs. a Ferrari F40 to show the technical and graphical success of this particular track, modeled on the real life track in Georgia, United States. Forza 2 is a racing driving simulator for the Xbox 360 video game console and is one of the best looking, most complex and detailed driving games ever made. This review should show you the incredible gameplay and graphics and car list that this HD video game has packed within one game disc. Although CGRHD is CLASSIC GAME ROOM, and Forza 2 is still a relatively new game, this will certainly be regarded as a CLASSIC racing game because it rocks so much. Classic Game Room HD - DARIUS GAIDEN on Sega Saturn part 2 Part 2. Classic Game Room HD reviews DARIUS GAIDEN for the Sega Saturn video game console. Do you hate fish? Well blow them up with a space ship and laser beams!! Darius Gaiden is a side scrolling horizontal shoot em up on the Sega Saturn released by Acclaim and Taito for the United States market. Many of these horizontal shooters were only available in Japan, but this one came over the pond to the U.S. of A and we're thankful, because IT'S AWESOME. This is a SHMUP that shows the 2D gaming potential of the Sega Saturn in all its glory, and is a darned challenging video game that will keep you busy for hours on end. Even on Easy, this game will bring you to your knees with lightening fast enemies, walls of alien fish bullets and end bosses that shoot all kinds of crazy things at you. Darius Gaiden is also cool in that it has many levels and you can play it like a "Choose your own adventure" and pick the path and levels that you would like to play. Robotic fish, giant squids and tentacle sponge things that shoot alien killer bubbles? Yes, they're all here in this one of a kind SHMUP on the Sega Saturn. How could the Saturn have died out as quickly as it did when games like this were available??? Darius Gaiden is a must have for fans of the SHMUP genre of video games. Space ships, laser beams, evil fish and explosions. Holy great fish sticks, this game rules! This game should be remade at once for Xbox Live Arcade XBLA or Playstation 3 PS3 network, although it looks amazing on the Saturn, I think a new generation should experience this enjoyable and challenging game.
