Abraham Lincoln - A Tribute (Ashokan Farewell) This is a tribute to the 16th President of the United States -- Abraham Lincoln. This president has become more central to America's image of itself than any chief executive before or after him. He has been called "Self-made man," "savior of the union," the "great emancipator" -- he is perhaps the most beloved president in American History. The Music is from Ken Burn's Documentary - "The Civil War" (1990). The Song is called "Ashokan Farewell", which was composed by Jay Ungar. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED!!! A Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his Time Since today is Martin Luther King Day, I wanted to make a tribute to his memory and the times of which he lived. The song used in the video is called "Look Down, Lord" from "Rosewood"(1997), featuring lyrics and music by John Williams There is a also an audio excerpt from Dr. King's "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech: "We've got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn't matter with me now, because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the Promised Land!" This was his last speech and he was assassinated the following day, but his mark into this nation shall and must never be forgotten. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED!!! Robert F. Kennedy's Statement on Dr. King's Death - Montage Since the movie "Bobby" is going to be released, I created this montage on Robert F. Kennedy's Statement in Indianapolis, IN on Martin Luther King's Assassination, which he made on the night of April 4, 1968. Amid the tragedy of the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, an extraordinary moment in U.S. political history occurred as Robert F. Kennedy, younger brother of slain President John F. Kennedy, broke the news of King's death to a large gathering of African Americans in Indianapolis, Indiana. Most of the people hadn't even heard that Dr. King had been shot. I can imagine that they were stunned and some cried. But that evening Robert Kennedy spoke from his soul. The words rang in almost a prayerful manner. Carved on the Robert Kennedy's marble gravestone are the words from Aeschylus that he could recite from memory: "He who learns must suffer. And even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God." FDR Tribute This is a short tribute dedicated to 32nd President of the United States: Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Although his public charm matched his private struggles during his 13 years in the White House, He was unquestionably the most vital figure in the nation, and perhaps the world. He championed the common man and restored hope to the nation. He led the nation through the two greatest American crises of the twentieth century -- the Great Depression and World War II. Above all, President Roosevelt's optimism inspired the American people to believe they could accomplish anything they set out to accomplish. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED!!! A Lesson from History This a lesson that people from the 1930's should have learned. But this sad chapter in human history is something that cannot be repeated. The Holocaust should never have happened. People should have stood up to Hitler, but instead did nothing. I don't know if something similar will happen in the future, but if it does, we must not be afraid to stand up against oppression and fear. When thing become difficult and when the waves of oppression come over us, we must have the courage to make a difference and stand up for the right cause. This video is to make people aware of what may happen if we fail to stand. The music is from the track "Anakin's Betrayal" from the "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack". But the song itself brings a deep and emotional tone and it gave me a deep and stirring feeling, so that is why I put it in here. I hope that you will get something out of this; if not then it is my fault. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED!!! Tags: Holocaust Memorial History Tribute Hitler Nazi Death Concentration Camp |
