Elite Four Training: Gojira and E4 Preparations READ THE DESCRIPTION FOR TRAINING TIPS! In order to prepare for the challenges of the Pokemon League, Devin takes some time to train Gojira, his Rampardos, up to level 50. Be warned, because it takes a lot of time! (; Contrary to popular rumors, Rare Candies aren't that bad for your Pokemon. Without getting technical into things like EVs and stuff, just know that, as long as you don't Rare Candy all the way up to level 100 (which DOES create permanent damage and weaker stats), your Pokemon will be totally fine if you use a few Rare Candies on it and keep on fighting with it. Totally fine, no problems at all. The level gains might not APPEAR to be as good as they would be if you fought, but they'll catch up, don't worry. And if you know about EVs and stuff, you should already know about this. But in case you don't, using a Rare Candy gives your Pokemon one level but without any EVs, so it won't gain the bonuses until you get around to EV training it. Just had to clear up that myth. If you're really technical about things, you can look into it further or wait until my EV Training video comes out. Elite Four Training: Marriland the Infernape READ THE DESCRIPTION FOR TRAINING TIPS! In order to prepare for the challenges of the Pokemon League, Devin takes some time to train Marriland, his Infernape, up to level 50. A Beauty on Route 221 has a single Lopunny that gives about 1300 EXP when you beat it, not to mention she gives you about $4300 if you have an Amulet Coin equipped, so she's great to Vs. Seeker spam over and over again. Obviously you'll do a lot better if you have a strong Fighting-type attack to take it out in one shot, but otherwise it's still good training for a whole bunch of other Pokemon. It does know Charm, though, which can spoil your Physical-based Pokemon's fun, so try to OHKO it before it can use that. There's also a Rich Boy on the same route with a lone Luxio that gives just about 1000 EXP, but over $13000 with an Amulet Coin equipped, so he's another great option to fight for lots of money and a good amount of EXP. Plus Luxio isn't too rough, other than it using Swagger to confuse you. Elite Four Training: Saik and Checkmate READ THE DESCRIPTION FOR TRAINING TIPS! In order to prepare for the challenges of the Pokemon League, Devin takes some time to train two of his Pokemon, Saik and Checkmate, up to level 50. There's a Fisherman on Route 221 that has two Gyarados and a Remoraid that you can fight with the Vs. Seeker. If you have a Special-based Electric-type attack like Thunderbolt, Thunder (not recommended), or Discharge (or Hidden Power Electric in my case), you can OHKO each of the Gyarados and get about 1900 EXP for each one you fight. Even if you use an Exp. Share on one of your Pokemon, you're still getting the amount of EXP you would from KOing Pokemon in Victory Road, except you don't have to keep running from fights looking for something you can handle AND you're giving the EXP to another one of your Pokemon! In my opinion, the Fisherman here is one of the fastest ways of getting EXP to train for the Elite Four other than perhaps doing training runs against the Elite Four themselves (where you lose to them on purpose, because you'll retain the EXP and only lose a little bit of money). If you don't have a Pokemon with one of those Electric-type attacks (Luxray may not work, because Thunder Fang and Spark are both weakened by Gyarados' Intimidate and probably won't OHKO), you may want to get one that can OHKO the Gyarados or find another training spot. The first music used in this video is "Subterranean Kamikaze" by Sixto Sounds and zircon from OverClocked ReMix www.ocremix.org The second music used in this video is "All-Star Doskpop" by Beatdrop from OverClocked ReMix www.ocremix.org You can also find an overwhelming amount of information on Pokemon Diamond and Pearl at my website: - http://pokemon.marriland.com It has a full Pokedex and complete Walkthrough so you'll know everything there is to know! Elite Four Training: Astro READ THE DESCRIPTION FOR TRAINING TIPS! In order to prepare for the challenges of the Pokemon League, Devin takes some time to train one of his Pokemon, Astro, up to level 50. If you're looking for a good training spot to train your Water-type Pokemon (particularly if it knows Surf) or any Pokemon with a good Water-type attack, Victory Road is probably the place for you. Slap on a Smoke Ball to run away from Golbats, Machokes, and Medichams (unless you can OHKO them and they don't hit you first), and Surf away all of the Graveler, Steelix, and Onix you can find. Victory Road isn't for every Pokemon though, since consider that you need to run from the fights your Pokemon can't easily handle. Vs. Seeker spamming is a better alternative unless your Pokemon can handle 60% of the fights in Victory Road in one shot, otherwise you're wasting precious time. The first music used in this video is "DiddyEvolution" by djpretzel from OverClocked ReMix www.ocremix.org The second music used in this video is "Revolutions" by Beatdrop from OverClocked ReMix www.ocremix.org You can also find an overwhelming amount of information on Pokemon Diamond and Pearl at my website: - http://pokemon.marriland.com It has a full Pokedex and complete Walkthrough so you'll know everything there is to know! Epic Video: Elite Four - The Failed Attempt I knew I couldn't take them at the levels my Pokemon were at, since I documented each move of the Elite Four in my Walkthrough and knew that Lucian would destroy me in the end thanks to his Bronzong (or I would get PP-owned), but I wanted to try anyway. Just because. So rather than just let it slide or post some summary, I wanted to make some sort of EPIC trailer-esque video to go along with it, because that's just how I roll. Does I gets +9001 VIDEO EDITOR WIN points for using Requiem for a Dream?! Haha ha. Sorry, I couldn't resist. It almost adds to the irony. Yep. But a bit of good news: I do have every video recorded all the way to the end of the Elite Four, including... you know who. And the ending. Yep, it's done, finally, so this is just a teaser for you to salivate over and wonder how the heck I'm going to pull it off. So you'll all know, I used this exact same team at Level 50 to pull off the win, and training videos (kinda boring, but gives good ideas of where to train... and there's music) will be posted tomorrow. I personally LOVE a challenge, and sure, I could just grind and level them all up to level 65 or something, but that wouldn't be any fun. ): Anyway, enjoy the epic teaser trailer summary thing. I don't even know what you'd call this other than mildly disappointing. (And don't just assume that I'm not "good" because I LOST to the Elite Four, lol. I just wanted to challenge myself, have some fun, and then make a cool video out of my failed attempt. Nothing wrong with that, hmmm?) Music is Requiem for a Tower (or Requiem for a Dream) just in case you didn't catch it. Tags: pokemon diamond pearl usa elite four aaron bertha flint lucian epic requiem for dream trailer |

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl: Deoxys GameStop event Just a really short video reminding you that you can still pick up a Deoxys this weekend at your local GameStop stores! It also shows the process this time, for those who are unfamiliar with it. I apologize for the comparatively poor quality, but I had limited time and resources available. My Pokemon Ranch Just a little video showing some of the things you can do in the new Wii Ware title, My Pokemon Ranch. It's sort of like the old Pokemon Box for the Gamecube, except more cutesy and easier to get ahold of. It costs 1000 Wii Points ($10 before tax) in the Wii Shop. If you don't have Pokemon Diamond or Pearl, it won't be overly entertaining (unless you like watching cute things walk around), but any hardcore or simply eager Pokemon fan will enjoy the potential 1000 additional storage spots for storing your Pokemon, as well as laughing at the Pokemon's actions and reactions while on the ranch. There's plenty more to do than what I showed, but if you like what you see, it'll probably be worth your while getting the game. At the very least, it's $10 for a Legendary Pokemon (not Arcanine, lol) if you max out the ranch. I'll try to keep current with information as I get it on my website: - http://pokemon.marriland.com Enjoy! Tags: pokemon my ranch everyone's diamond pearl platinum storage box hayley wii ware shop |

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl - Part 76: Mesprit, Being of Emotion Marriland plays through the American version of Pokemon Diamond. This is part seventy-six in a continuing series. In this episode, Devin chases the running Legendary Being of Emotion, Mesprit. Usually Mesprit is very difficult to catch, equally as difficult as Azelf and Uxie as far as catchability goes. However, unlike the previous two, you have to hunt down Mesprit to try and catch it and it runs away from you in the first turn of the fight. A Murkrow or Honchkrow with Mean Look is your best bet, but any of the Zubat, Gastly, and Misdreavus lines can learn Mean Look as well. Mean Look will prevent it from running. Block works, too, but it's unlikely any Pokemon in Sinnoh that learns Block (Bronzong, Bastiodon, etc.) will be able to outspeed Mesprit. If you don't have a Pokemon with Mean Look available, try weakening it and afflicting it with Sleep or Paralysis. Just be careful not to knock it out! Mesprit will usually have between 85 and 100 Speed, though it can have up to 110, so make sure that you are faster than that if you try to attack it. You can also use your Master Ball on it (though I'd recommend saving it for Cresselia) or you can wait until you've gotten the National Dex to catch a Wobbuffet and use its Shadow Tag Ability to prevent it from escaping. Your call. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl - Part 75: Azelf, Being of Willpower Marriland plays through the American version of Pokemon Diamond. This is part seventy-five in a continuing series. In this episode, after catching Uxie, Devin heads off to Lake Valor to catch Azelf. Uxie helps you stand up to Azelf's Nasty Plot and is very useful at helping to catch it, so it is recommended that you get Uxie first to help make it easier to catch. If you're having difficulty catching Azelf, try teaching one of your Pokemon False Swipe (can be purchased at Veilstone City) and using that to bring Azelf's HP down to 1. Paralyzing and putting it to Sleep are also very effective ways to make it easier to catch if you have Pokemon with such moves. It's probably best to avoid using your Master Ball against it, since Mesprit and Cresselia are harder to catch (and Cresselia is a lot more useful). Dusk Balls are your best bet. Timer Balls after 40 turns are just as effective as Dusk Balls are in dark places, so there is NO REASON to use Timer Balls instead of Dusk Balls, period. If you're having difficulty catching Uxie, try teaching one of your Pokemon False Swipe (can be purchased at Veilstone City) and using that to bring Uxie's HP down to 1. Paralyzing and putting it to Sleep are also very effective ways to make it easier to catch if you have Pokemon with such moves.
