♫ Soundtrack - Lord of the Rings - Leaving Lórien (with lyric) "...Ah! like gold fall the leaves in the wind..." ------------------------ I spent quite much time making this vid, because the program was sooooo slow when I put the high-res-snowdrops in...I really wanted to have them in this vid, I think it's perfect for this music :) Elanor at the intro, and niphredil (snowdrop) lyric and information from: www.geocities.com/magpie930/ ------------------------ music: The Lord of the Rings, The Complete Recordings, The Fellowship of the Ring, "The Fighting Uruk-hai" (also known as Farewell to Lórien). OST by Howard Shore. In the book Galadriel sings this for the Farewell of the Fellowship, while she's playing the harp. Lyric in Quenya with english and german translation. The song is called "Namárië", or "Galadriel's Lament in Lórien": **************************************** Quenya Ai! Laurië lantar lassi súrinen, yéni únótimë ve rámar aldaron! Yéni ve lintë yuldar avánier mi oromardi lissë-miruvóreva Andúnë pella, Vardo tellumar nu luini yassen tintilar i eleni ómaryo airetári-lírinen. Sí man i yulma nin enquantuva? Sí vanwa ná, Rómello vanwa, Valimar! Namárië! Nai hiruvalyë Valimar! Nai elyë hiruva! Namárië! **************************************** Tolkien's translation (not literal): Ah! like gold fall the leaves in the wind, long years numberless as the wings of trees! The long years have passed like swift draughts of the sweet mead in lofty halls beyond the West, beneath the blue vaults of Varda wherein the stars tremble in the voice of her song, holy and queenly. Who now shall refill the cup for me? For now the Kindler, Varda, the Queen of the stars, from Mount Everwhite has uplifted her hands like clouds and all paths are drowned deep in shadow; and out of a grey country darkness lies on the foaming waves between us, and mist covers the jewels of Calacirya for ever. Now lost, lost to those of the East is Valimar! Farewell! Maybe thou shalt find Valimar! Maybe even thou shalt find it! Farewell! Lebewohl! Vielleicht wirst du Valimar finden. Ja, vielleicht wirst du es finden. Lebewohl! *********** Niphredil: A pale green/white flower that grew among the golden trees of Lórien. Tolkien said niphredil has similarity with snowdrop. Elanor: A golden, star-shaped flower, with a name meaning sun-star. Sam Gamgee first came across it in Lórien, and named his eldest daughter, Elanor Gardner, from it. it looks like yellow pimpernel. Ned Kelly documentation part 2/2 ned kelly documentation from the movie "Ned Kelly" (2003) with Heath Ledger. Ned Kelly wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ned_Kelly (There's a good pic from his armour) Edward "Ned" Kelly (3 June 1855 11 November 1880) was an Australian bushranger, and, to some, a folk hero for his defiance of the colonial authorities. Kelly was born in Victoria to an Irish convict father, and as a young man he clashed with the police. Following an incident at his home in 1878, police parties searched for him in the bush. After he murdered three policemen, the colony proclaimed Kelly and his gang wanted outlaws. A final violent confrontation with police took place at Glenrowan. Kelly, dressed in home-made plate metal armour and helmet, was captured and sent to jail. He was hanged for murder at Old Melbourne Gaol in 1880. His daring and notoriety made him an iconic figure in Australian history, folk lore, literature, art and film. On 9 March 2008, it was claimed that Kelly's burial site had been found by Australian scientists. Tags: ned edward kelly documentation english documentary report heath ledger 2003 docu doku |

Atonement - Set The Fire To The Third Bar (Snow Patrol, feat. Martha Wainwright) I find the map and draw a straight line Over rivers, farms, and state lines The distance from A to where you B It's only finger-lengths that I see I touch the place where I'd find your face My finger in creases of distant dark places I hang my coat up in the first bar There is no peace that I've found so far The laughter penetrates my silence As drunken men find flaws in science Their words mostly noises Ghosts with just voices Your words in my memory Are like music to me And miles from where you are, I lay down on the cold ground and I, I pray that something picks me up And sets me down in your warm arms After I have travelled so far We'd set the fire to the third bar We'd share each other like an island Until exhausted, close our eyelids And dreaming, pick up from The last place we left off Your soft skin is weeping A joy you can't keep in And miles from where you are, I lay down on the cold ground And I, I pray that something picks me up and sets me down in your warm arms And miles from where you are, I lay down on the cold ground and I, I pray that something picks me up and sets me down in your warm arms Tags: atonement Set The Fire To Third Bar snow patrol movie clips robbie cecilia keira knightley music vid video |

Radagast is sending Gandalf the eagle to rescue him from the top of Orthanc (and later again from the top of Zirak Zigil) and the eagles at the end of the movie for example. ♫ Soundtrack - Lord Rings - Remembering of Boromir's wounding (with lyric) "...Whither goest thou Boromir?..." ------------------------ lyric and information from: www.geocities.com/magpie930/ ------------------------ very short, but it's a nice piece of music ;) The Eyes of the White Tower, The Lord of the Rings - The Complete Recordings - The Return of the King the song is called "The Death of Boromir, part 2", lyric in Quenya with translation: I alda helda, i ehtele lína The tree is bare, the fountain still. Manna lelyalye Voromírë? Whither goest thou Boromir? Cánalya hlarula, la hirimmel We heard your call but cannot find you. Fuinë lanta Pelendoro nandesse Darkness falls upon the vale of Pelennor Sí massë i Anar? Where now is the sun? ------------- Howard Shore's comment to this music theme: The death of Boromir, or the departure of Boromir... Peter did a wonderful thing with the sound and the music where he takes the sound and he treats it in a way hes taken the reality of the battle out and created almost an underworld to the action that youre seeing on screen. Its almost as if youve fallen underwater and youre hearing sounds filtered through several feet of water. The analogy is Boromir is sinking. Hes.... the arrows have gone in and hes slowly going down and the knows hes finished, hes dying. And it is the feeling of submersion, you know, youre just falling into this dark pit. The sound of the boy choir singing in Elvish had a quality of youth to it of almost like a lost youth. When Boromirs dying you hear those boys singing and he looks at the Hobbits, cause he knows hes finished. And you hear those boys singing. Its just such a wonderful sound. And I did it all based on the shot of Boromirs eyes as he looks at Merry and Pippin. *************** TTT, Book 4, Chapter V, The Window on the West One of the lines above was spoken by Faramir as he recounts his vision of Boromir floating in the Elven boat on the Anduin. `A broken sword was on his knee. I saw many wounds on him. It was Boromir, my brother, dead. I knew his gear, his sword, his beloved face. One thing only I missed: his horn. One thing only I knew not: a fair belt, as it were of linked golden leaves, about his waist. Boromir! I cried. Where is thy horn? Whither goest thou? O Boromir! But he was gone. The boat turned into the stream and passed glimmering on into the night. Dreamlike it was. and yet no dream, for there was no waking. And I do not doubt that he is dead and has passed down the River to the Sea.' Another line, "We heard your call but cannot find you." probably refers to the fact that Faramir 'heard' the horn call Boromir made on Amon Hen. I heard the blowing of that horn: from the northward it seemed, but dim, as if it were but an echo in the mind. ♫ Soundtrack - Lord Rings - White Rider arrives at Helms Deep (with lyric) the same vid as I already did, just with the clip from the movie. (with lyric, solo in white, chorus in grey.) music: The Lord of the Rings - The Complete Recordings - The Two Towers - Théoden Rides Forth, by Howard Shore. ------------------------ lyric and information from: www.geocities.com/magpie930/ ------------------------ The White Rider arrives at Helm's Deep, Solo sung by Ben Del Maestro. The song is called "The Mearas". Lyric in Old English (Rohirric): Híe hine sáwon feorran In the distance they saw him, And hwíte sunnan in mane White sun caught in his mane. Híe lange hine clipodon Long they called him, Ac hé ne wolde cuman But he would not come. For thon hé waes Sceadufæx for he was Shadowfax, Hláford ealra méara Lord of all Horses. And hé ne andswarode bútan ánne. And he answered only to one. Shadowfax is the horse of Gandalf, one of the Mearas. Mearas: In the old north of Middle-earth lived a proud race of wild horses, long-lived, wise and fleet of foot. The legends of Men said that their ancestors had been brought from the West by Béma, their name for the Vala Oromë. One of these was captured as a foal by Léod of the Éothéod. It grew into a strong white horse, but when Léod tried to mount it, it threw him and killed him. Léod's son Eorl took the horse himself, naming him Felaróf. Felaróf was one of the greatest horses to have ever lived, and was said to understand the speech of Men. He carried Eorl when the Éothéod rode south to Rohan, and there sired a race of horses nearly as great as himself. These were the Mearas, noble horses that lived as long as a Man, and had extraordinary strength and intelligence. Throughout their history, they would only allow themselves to be ridden by the Lord of the Mark or his sons. This long tradition was broken by Gandalf, who managed to train the greatest of the Mearas of his time, Shadowfax, and rode that mighty horse throughout the War of the Ring. The word Mearas comes from an Anglo-Saxon word meaning simply 'horses'. Its singular form would be mearh, but no character in The Lord of the Rings ever uses that word.
